Hello everyone,
Decided to join this website as it looked interesting and I've been planning to get back into spirituality as of late. I am a 22 year old male from Melbourne, Australia and I first developed an interest in the spiritual/occult in my late teens when I started reading about Buddhism, which lead me onto a path of exploring New Age Spirituality for a time. I was raised in a largely atheist environment and neither Christianity nor Islam were my cup of tea, and so I began searching more obscure realms in hopes to find something that could guide my spirituality when I grew tired of living in the concrete world of science I was raised to believe in.
The New Age path I explored for a time included the study of various teachings from channelled entities such as Seth, Michael and Abraham, and I had much interest in the concept of reality creation (popularised as 'The Secret') at the time. In retrospect, I feel I had some genuine success in creating a reality of my own will and desire, but I think I doubted my abilities too much and got too impatient for certain things to happen, and therefore was unable to 'let go' properly, and in the end I slowly gave it up as other interests headed my way.
I soon grew tired of the right hand path teachings I was following, and afterwards I began to explore the realms of Satanism and Chaos Magick. These things still intrigue me today, except I think I prefer Luciferianism over Satanism for its more spiritual aspects; Satanism from what I read had struck me as a more carnal, materialistic belief system, a bit like a hedonist form of the atheist teachings I was raised with. Of course, I realise there are many different types of Satanists with varying beliefs and ways of practicing, but I think I prefer Luciferianism for its emphasis on advancement of all humanity rather than just the self, and I definitely like the Luciferian take on the story of Genesis; we've all been left better off from Eve taking a bite into that apple of knowledge I'd say. [twisted]
From here on, I think I would like to learn more about Luciferianism and about Chaos Magick in order to strengthen my own belief systems. I like the idea Chaos Magick over other forms of magick as it is very loosely structured and seems to get straight to the point more than some of the other magickal systems whilst still taking their lessons into account. That and I feel like Chaos Magick ties in with the reality creation material I studied previously, and could perhaps strengthen any powers I had there with that before.
I also feel I have a preference for the left hand path over the right hand; LHP puts emphasis on being your own creator and making up your own perspective as you go along with existence; RHP has a lot of higher entity worship going on which really doesn't fit with me. That's another reason why I like Luciferianism, where one does not worship a higher entity but merely has respect for them as a guide and teacher, and the guide and teacher has to be worthy to gain that respect. I think that's fair enough.
Well that's about all I got to say. I look forward to discussing things further in the forum. [happy2]

Re: Greetings!
I kinda just chose my forum name on a whim. The 'Arcadia' part comes from this Wikipedia article I was reading.
