Protective Circle/ license to depart

So I was reading on a particular site.. it said we don't need to use protective circles because it's not needed and it's offensive and insulting. Along with the "license to depart" both are considered to be very disrespectful?! I may be wrong but isn't the protective circle to protect us, and why would they not want to be license to depart?! Can someone explain why someone would say don't use a protective circle or a license to depart?

Hello, I think it depends on the paradigm you are using and the kind of entity your are dealing with.

For instance, if I should one day experiment with the Goetia, I'll stick to the "official" guidelines

These protections were created based upon the experience of practitioners over a long period of time. They exist for a reason. When it comes to Invoking the archangels you do not banish them at the end but always treat them in a very respectful manner and tell them to "go in peace and with my gratitude."

They are indeed talking about Goetia.. but I do plan to stick to the rules, cutting corners is just not the way to go (found this by experience).. I just found it odd that they would say to do away with something so important.
