LaVeyan Satanism?
I know I am going to word this terribly wrong but here it goes;
I have been looking into this for awhile now and I am about ready to...let's say...commit to LaVeyan Satanism. However; I am curious about this; are there any other LaVeyan Satanists here? And if so; could you give me some tips or could we chat sometime? (I will be ordering some of Anton's books soon.)
Thanks guys!

Re: LaVeyan Satanism?
My tip is to use it as a stepping stone and move on. Especially today, LaVeyan Satanism is in utter ruins.
Re: LaVeyan Satanism?
I can second that. Don't waste the money. I will say this, no matter what the books say the people are who make the religion/organization/group (whatever) what it is. Those at the top I believe abuse the powers and care little for others two sense. I once wanted to debate that Laveyan Satanism can be broken down into individualism and hedonism.....I was kicked out within a day for being "rude". Do I need to say anything further?
So you mean to tell me that you have a large collection of ritual equipment? Well I have my mind, just as good and I bought it at a discount price

Well satanism is a very special philosophy. It takes time to really get it you know and there is a LOT of missunterpretation even from satanists themselves. I would suggest you the satanic bible, the satanic scriptures (las ecrituras satanicas), the complete witch but before that I would suggest you to read everything which is said on the subject of satanism on the ChurchOfSatan website (http://churchofsatan.com) and watch some video about satanism such as the ones on Underworld Amusement channel http://www.youtube.com/user/UnderworldAmusements/videos (look at "the philosophy of the church of satan - satanism as weltanschauung). I start to really understand satanism since a few weeks, it takes a certain time before REALLY understanding it. I'm not very good at expressing myself so I don't really know how to express what it means to me. But it is very different from everything which can be seen else-where.

Does not sound half bad as a starting point as a beginning. I found the use of a germanism kind of entertaining.thestudyingalchemist wrote:Well satanism is a very special philosophy. Satanism as a starting point is really a nice thing if you don't loose yourself in it.
Thank you for the link, I like it.

I agree that satanism is a good starting point BUT IF you don't loose yourself in it, the problem we face today is that we have a totally ignorant culture on these subjects which spreads their bullshit/missinformation on internet (such as JoyOfSatan or christian websites). And it is VERY hard to find true and accurate information about it, and there is usually a certain evolution in the comprehension you have from it (or maybe it's only me). Yeah I like the video too, Mr Slaughter is a very good speaker and the books he sells such as "anathema! (latinies of negation)" or "A Biblbe Not Borrow From The Neighbors - On Aphorism & Egoism" (which I have) is really goodRamscha wrote:Does not sound half bad as a starting point as a beginning. Please do not waste your time with an orginization like the church of "satan". It is nothing more than the remnant of the counterculture movement that milks its remaining infamy for cash. Even most of their "bible" is plagarized from right wing nutjobs like ayn rand and ragnar redbeard.
If you are really interested in satan and the occult I sugges you go to amazon and get a copy of "the sinister tradition".

He's asking for documentation/info referring to LaVeyan satanism, not your negative opinion about it (which only focus on some very small points and doesn't inform us about the subject of satanism). Let him discover it and judge it by himself.PitBehemoth wrote:Please do not waste your time with an orginization like the church of "satan". This is "spiritual" satanism, but well there is nothing such as "spiritual satanism" or anything which was named satanism by it's own adepts existing before LaVey.PitBehemoth wrote:If you are really interested in satan and the occult I sugges you go to amazon and get a copy of "the sinister tradition".

Yes, I'm sure the templars carried talismans of baphomet in 1119 to ensure them safe travel during the crusades because of LaVey.thestudyingalchemist wrote: This is "spiritual" satanism, but well there is nothing such as "spiritual satanism" or anything which was named satanism by it's own adepts existing before LaVey.

You didn't get the point, of course all the symbolism existed before LaVey, but it was not called satanism/spiritual satanism by its followers.PitBehemoth wrote:Yes, I'm sure the templars carried talismans of baphomet in 1119 to ensure them safe travel during the crusades because of LaVey.thestudyingalchemist wrote: This is "spiritual" satanism, but well there is nothing such as "spiritual satanism" or anything which was named satanism by it's own adepts existing before LaVey.
