the key of Solomon book recommendation
Just got a copy of the the key of Solomon the king (clavicula salomonis), Before i attempt the render oneself invisible or to make magic carters i thought i would see if anyone has attempted either of those and how it went for them or if their were any problems.
I was also wondering if anyone had any recommendations of practical applications of elemental magic.
(any replies will be helpful)

Re: the key of Solomon book recommendation
Hmm, the magick of Salomon. Creating magickal carters or optaining invisibility both are quite hard to obtain if you stay by the harcore definitions (like a demon carrying you on his back to a mountain or turning transparent). But you could widen them a little bit, then it is not that strange.
"Invisibility" is not so much of a deal to a certain degree. it is more a sort of a psychological trick, a combination of body language and maybe visualisation as well as temporary reduction of your own charisma/aura (the thing which makes you attractive to people, don't know if I got the right word). People won't mind you, ignore you or overlook you if you are uniteresting enough.
However, turning invisible for real, who knows for sure if it does not happen? To me some strange things occured while being in trance so I wouln't exclude it for certain.
A colleague of mine once gave me quite a strange anecdote regarding this magical carter thing:
He and a friend of his once created both an egregor (group servitor) for "carrying", or better, "for fcarrying them on a shamanistic journey". They both started to dance until they were in a deep trance and then began to run. In their mind they made a shamanistic journey on this servitor, called forth to their ancestors and after they did that, they released the egregor and came out of their trance again. Rhe place, where they returned to normal conscious state was a prohibited military area blocked by a 5 meter high barbed wire fence with a high voltage applied to its top. They both didn't know how they came into this area and neither did the soldiers who found them, but as far as he told me they weren't that pleased about it and quite rough when bringing them out.
Both may not be that close to the salomonic magick, but the outcome is quite the same you want to obtain. Just be careful when playing around with such things, it could end in a military area [eg]

Re: the key of Solomon book recommendation
I have not used the Solomonic method although I have experimented with invisibility with a few different methods.
Two problems I have had. One is people not knowing I'm there, and then suddenly noticing me and getting scared, even jumping back with that sudden intake of breath and putting their hands up. Second, was when walking across a street, I had to dodge a truck that was going past. Stupid mistake on my part. Take precautions when you are doing things, sometimes there are complications with things that seem useful that may be unknown until you face them.

Re: the key of Solomon book recommendation
Well if it's one thing I could impart to another it's how to be invisible. Luckily I am one of those people who not many know actually exist which up until I wanted to live my life "scholarly" in psychology was a sad revelation (I just read that article on Castaneda...apparently my language might take on a "holy" theme here). But now because my life plan is generally set I can point out great advantages like, and most importantly, NO DRAMA lol. I've had absolutely no drama. If you want a low key, quiet, non-distracting life being "invisible" is great. One of the "gifts" I think is the best is that if I wanted to I could easily walk into a McDonald's, sit in a corner booth with a laptop (gotta have something to do right?) and just observe human behavior. I could do that for days and even order food each day and maaaaybe one-two employees would know I exist. Eventually this led me to realize the beauty in invisibility and I'd came to realize that if somehow I were to become like a god figure that could do anything I would simply watch the world unfold.
Now some tips but first always remember the name of the game is disinterest. If you want to be invisible and something is visually interesting about you it has to go.
1. Become uninterested in your current environment. What I find is I am especially unnoticed if I am totally lost in thought and my assumption is simply: if I am not changing the environment or reacting to the environment (including people) then people have no reason to mentally acknowledge me because I am no threat nor a potential benefit thus although people see me I quickly become forgotten or "invisible".
2. Nothing can "pop" visually from you. Think of wearing a pure black shirt with 2 bright as day pink circles on the front and back....yeah never do that. Some how I've been able to get away with shirts with pretty good designs and workout pants (so comfortable) but note that everything color wise is pretty much on the darker side like dark red, brown, my brightest color shirt is about the color I put up on here (the green block). Also I think it also helps to not have a large collection of clothing so people are never surprised at what you are wearing, obviously this doesn't help with new people.
3. Be boring, be a absolute bore. However the trick is to not go to others to bore them, let them come to you and then WAM bore them to tears. If they have a question give them a logical answer, try to appear like you don't care much for opinionated matters. Soon they will stop contributing to the conversation (maybe they're mentally numb?) and more importantly you become a fellow they don't gain a social satisfaction with thus you become uninteresting.
4. No sudden movements. Even if I move in a non-smooth way or I suddenly jump for no apparent reason I will be noticed. So yeah this also is helped when you are so lost in thought you set your body to "auto-pilot".
5. (am I boring you yet?) Be an all around consistent person. If you are not consistent you will gain peoples attention whether that be famous or infamous. This and number 1 are probably my 2 primary ways I seem to be always invisible. After all I can't say this enough, you have to be uninteresting.
6. Don't smell especially bad......or good. if you smell bad people have enough attention to stay away but that is still attention. if you smell good people may like to be closer to you which requires them to know that you are there.
7. If you have something you are known for and want to be invisible let that thing die out if you can with minimal effort as remember if you are very active people will notice. Obviously if you are Mel Gibson this is not an option in the United States. But even if you are a popular highschool (everyone knows me) kinda guy or gal you can still become withdrawn and people will forget about you giving you a door way to become uninteresting. For this case however it may help to find a reason for your withdrawal that is bad news for those who get some kind of satisfaction (we can't party at my place anymore.....my car is gone.... whatever) but whatever the reason it cannot be interestingly bad otherwise being forgotten will just take longer.
8. defuse potential conversations in a way that the person cannot be mad at you ex. "whats up" "the usual", "hey whats going on" "the usual" you get the point....
9. Don't gain attention by being obviously an occultist like the kind who intentionally makes his list end in the number 9........8D get it? get it?
Anyway you don't need all of these but you would find that some are more powerful than others and I'd imagine there is room for individual differences in which tips are more effective than others.

So you mean to tell me that you have a large collection of ritual equipment? Well I have my mind, just as good and I bought it at a discount price
Re: the key of Solomon book recommendation
I worked with the seals of Solomon with great success. Let me reccomend my psionic method to you, perhaps that may work. Here is a short, quick guide I wrote up fairly quickly for you guys. Hope this helps!

These are my recommendations. Personally, I pay no attention to invisibility or such things. The important part of Solomon's Magick is the Goetia, in my opinion.

Re: the key of Solomon book recommendation
That's a glamour technique.
ryanleman - good list of how-tos.
Are there any plans to continue with your experiments with 'invisibility'? You can get to the point that it doesn't matter what you wear and still go un-noticed by most.
Unfortunately, there are people that will pick you up. It doesn't work on everybody. My kid is working at McD's as her first job. She'd know you were there. Then she'd want to know what and why you were hiding. She's extremely talented at that.
I'll explain what I'm saying before anyone takes it the wrong way. Yes, if you're good at this technique you can hide from the general public but you never ever know when you'll run into people with gifts and abilities. The good ones hide in plain sight.

Well I wouldn't consider this an experiment by any means. This is just one of those "abilities earned by coincidence" and by that I mean it's just how I naturally am as a person that makes me quite invisible. As I got older I started to notice this and piece by piece I started to see how this works.
The second part starting with "you can' I think you mean't to say "can you get to the point....." (correct me if I'm wrong) and I would have to say this brings up more variables rendering my answer as it depends (originally I was going to say no before remembering and watching a few more things in the link in my last sentence). I can think of some counter intuitive examples like if you dress in a clown outfit in the middle of rush our in new york city people actually might not notice you "if" everyone is truly rushing to get where they're going of course this is a disinterest caused by everyone's attention shifted to getting to where they are going on time or being in a rush. In this case due to circumstance you would be invisible even though you do not visually blend in. Now of course if you were to wear a clown outfit, in new york city in the middle of rush hour during a college class well then yes you will probably attracted a lot of attention. So I guess this is two other variables which would be blending in and I guess what one would call the psychological atmosphere. Lastly a great site, I think and the one I mentioned before, to look at for invisibility is http://www.theinvisiblegorilla.com/videos.html which shows other's attention being used against them.

Re: the key of Solomon book recommendation
I did say 'you can get to the point'.
I don't know about the NYC example - most people there just go about their day - they've seen it all. Now, if someone did that in the small town I live in - there'd be no way that people wouldn't notice.

Re: the key of Solomon book recommendation
Oh ok well I'm not too focused on becoming that invisible as I am invisible enough to be comfortable with although it would be interesting.

Re: the key of Solomon book recommendation
'Invisibility' doesn't come as naturally to me as it does for you. I had to work very hard to create my 'invisibility shields'. It's second nature now but it wasn't easy in the beginning. There are times that I turn it on without even consciously realizing it - mostly when I just don't want to be bothered. That's not always a good thing - especially when you're out driving and the other cars on the road don't even notice you're there.
