What does an occult library need.
Realistically, What would you want from an occult library?
Let say that I decide to open one in your town. what should I have on my shelfs to draw you in?

Re: What does an occult library need.
so you mean a public library not a private one correct?
In my opinion it would need a healthy balance between important older books and newer books. what would be cool is if it could be divided into sections. You could have for example a divination section which would be further subdivided into sections on each form of divination (astrology, tarot, scrying. geomancy, etc). A magick section which could be divided into categories like ceremonial magic which would contain books on the golden dawn, enochian and many grimoires and a practical magic section which would have books on stuff like candle magic, spells, etc. Than you could have a more spiritual, "inspirational" more new agey section with general metaphysical books on stuff like chakras, auras, reincarnation etc etc...but in my opinion organizing things into a way that they are accessible and easy to find is key.

I'm the first to admit that I'm a bit of a book snob. I love rare, old, hard to find books. What would draw me into an occult library? Having books I can't find elsewhereDesecrated wrote:Realistically, What would you want from an occult library?

Does these have to be the original editions or are paperbacks good enough?Ramscha wrote:Old as well as new classics. I mean Agrippa, Crowley, Spare, Dion Fortune, etc.

Books that you can't find, period. I'm not a fan of pdfs, more than a lot of books you can find in one edition or another on amazon, but as silly as it may sound, I would go to an occult library just to see and touch rare, out of printed, limited edition books lolDesecrated wrote:Books you can't find anywhere else in town-Frater_VP wrote:Having books I can't find elsewhere
