No really, I had quite a few encounters with people that may be foes to me in real life recently, they all had a cricket with themselves representing their weakness and lose.
When I was little someone used to speak for me a proverb "and chirps chirps the cricket on a node of a black spruce"... this is an early memory.

Plus, i think black spruce for protection and cricket chirping on a wood knot to bind enemy practitioners psychic attacking children...
Edit: few gems of folklore tradition, if you lived in India, Indochina or Balkans your enemies wud do nasty things to ur child, tho I think in India or Bharat they got plethora of more powerful things than witchcraft and they see an individual as so much less significant. If you bind a practitioner from attacking kids with a cricket ud be binding a really pissed off guy with something more loud, big loud thing, whales mating perhaps? And ud bind a witch seeking control over you with a sattelite in modern version lol
