creation of altar & tools

Post by MrDylan1981 »

Hello, people i have a few questions about the creation of the altar & tools
I'm planning on making a earth pentacle and the rest of the tools that would be used in evocation, i have a few questions however.
Do the tools have to be perfect? or is it more of a extension of energy ie a place holder for energy?
Do you need all the tools for evocation, or can you substitute a few tools eg. instead of a sword, you use a dagger or something?
Do the Hebrew letters in the earth pentacle have to be perfect, cause i suck at painting by hand haha, and last and not least, do i have to wrap the items in silk or something when not in use, or can i just keep them on my altar?

also this last question is a bit off topic from this thread, but i don't want to make a new one

is there any low magic i can practice aswell but has to be kabablah based? i only know of wiccan / neo-pagan magic not so much kabablah based.

Sounds like you are attempting to follow the Golden Dawn's rituals that were made up back in the late 1800's by Samuel Liddel and his friends. Not being an adept of that particular syncretic tradition, I'm not really in the position to advise about such matters, but I've seen different sets of Golden Dawn working tools of varying degrees of quality and displaying different levels of skill and craftsmanship.

I do however have some experience in working with an artist/craftsman in commissioning a set of ritual implements that he made for my personal collection, and so I can recommend his work if you are in the market for a capable artist with a lot of experience in making ritual tools. His name is Gary Zahradka owner of Omega Artworks out of St. Paul, Minnesota. He has a website at: omegaartworks.com.

Here are some pics of the tools that I commissioned him to make for me:

I haven't visited his site in quite some time, but having just done so I noticed that another client of his had commissioned him to make some Golden Dawn working tools:

I took out the active link to the website as we only allow commercial sites in the Bazaar folder and this rule is non negotiable.

Please don't think I'm being unfair or picking on you personally. I'm not.

We always take out such links, but I've left enough detail for the OP to find it themselves online.

Or, you can pm them the active link if you wish. [thumbup]

That's fine. I wasn't aware that links to commercial websites are not allowed.

Do what thou wilt.

Are you part of the golden dawn or some initiatory order? I'm curious if this specific setup is just preference or not. If you're in an order or something similar you need to ask your higher up because they usually have a very specific system with specific rules. If not, you can literally do whatever you want. Only has to be perfect if you need it to be. Otherwise it's just a giant symbol made of smaller symbols, as blank and open to meaning as all symbols.
