Lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram
Lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram
So do you not have to walk about the room when performing this ritual? Can you simply pivot from east, south, west and north? Just got my first book on magick, the LBRP and a simple relaxation ritual are the first two rituals given and I just have a hard time visualizing what I'm suppose to be doing. Also,is there any dangers involved with this ritual?

Hey, welcome to the forums
. I'm pretty new to this myself but I believe in doing what feels natural to you.If your work space is small the pivot a few times, if you feel like walking the cardinal points the walk them. The LBRP is fairly standard and as you say you are new to this there should be no inherent danger of having attracted any spirits attention as of now unless you have dabbled in summoning (eg. evocation). I use it to ensure Elementals have returned to their own planes and have had no problems to date. It's useful for ensuring a servitor spirit leaves after its assigned task is also completed. The relaxation ritual will help with focus but is basically meditation. No major powers or forces involved [thumbup]

Most descriptions I've read simply tell you to turn towards each cardinal direction.
I personally, stand still the entire time, and only invoke in my mind.
Everyone has their own practice, just do what seems natural to you. Practice with techniques and see which you prefer to use, and which seems more effective for you.

Re: Lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram
Hi All,
In the LBRP, is it necessary to have the tools such as cup, dagger, etc and also whether it is necessary to have Altar, candle, etc.
Is the LBRP can be performed without any of the above in a room which has some space?
Please enlighten me. Thanks in advance.

No, the tools aren't necessary at all, and yes, you can just pivot instead of walking in a circle.prathap wrote:Hi All,

A book I am reading says to imagine the pentagrams as being blue. I have a hard time with visualisation of anything. It takes me like 5 minutes of concentrations to do the middle-pillar ritual and the LBRP too. I heard if you have a hard time with visualisation, you can just KNOW in your heart that it's there. I can't keep a mental imagine in my head of blue pentagrams around me at all times. I think being able to do that stems from being good at art and having a good spatial intelligence.

Perfect visualization isn't necessary, and most people struggle with visualization for the first few years of their magical training.A book I am reading says to imagine the pentagrams as being blue. I'd recommend reading Robert Bruce's N.E.W. (New Energy Ways) for an understanding of how to work with energy without visualization in the meantime, and train your visualization skills (if the book you're working out of doesn't have any practices for this, Bardon's IIH is a good start, or you can do some research on the practice of Trataka).
