Do you visualise sigils or just stare at drawings?

When working with sigils do you yourself visualise them or do you have them drawn and stare at them? Which do you do?

If you visualise them, do you do so for a matter of seconds or for minutes?

Both.

First I create the sigil in ink on a paper that has brushed with a magickal tincture or other such liquid that empowers and cleanses it.

Secondly, I then activate/ the sigil with incense, alcohol from the mouth, and blood.

Thirdly, I then stare at the sigil before closing my mind and visualising the sigil intensely.

So visualization during sigil magick is something thats hard to define in my opinion.

I'm not just visualizing the sigil, I'm visualizing everything the sigil represents in its entirety.

There is no recommended "time". Only the power of your visualization. The more you practice the better you get.

The goal here is to affect the patterns of your deepest consciousness. This is why chaos magicians practice entering states of gnosis. It is in this mental state that our thoughts supposedly have the greatest impact on our reality.

So its all about how effective you are at obtaining this altered states and the thoughts you choose.

Both of these depend on your ability as a magician and the choices you make in your thoughts in relation to the desired outcome versus the will of the universe.

The reason why most magicians don't depend solely on sigil magick is because you are not the only one doing this and no matter how deep you go into gnosis, the universe has its own will. In order for your sigil to be effective you have to also understand the will of the universe and how you relate to it. This is only learned by walking the path of becoming spiritualy mature.

I draw them, then visualize them.

The reason is this: when my eyes are open, it seems that consciousness is naturally less concentrated and defined than when eyes are closed. Also, in visualizing with closed eyes and undergoing some physical crisis, the blackness of my closed eyes begins to feel like an expanse of space, the sigil serving as a point of tension within the space and then dissolving back into it when the crisis fades. However, it helps to have a visual point of reference at the outset, and the visual sigil can then be destroyed and forgotten, as if it is "forgotten" in the physical world, the mental world seems to be more inclined to forget it, also.

Do you burn it or destroy it after that? I don't get what people do with them if they don't burn them, just leave it in a vessel somewhere for someone to dig up in 1000 years?
