a little about me and hello

Hello everyone,

First I must say what an amazing forum! I have read lots of really
interesting information from many talented and wonderful individuals
who are masters of their craft! So kudos to everyone who dedicates time to something they are passionate about.

As for me, my name is Ephinai (Effy for short). I am very new to the occult. I first became very interested when I met a woman at a metaphysical shop in town, about a year ago, I wasn't there to buy anything either I was actually responding to an inquiry her husband had made to the company I work for (I work for an insurance company). I entered the shop and requested to speak with her husband, who owns the shop, of course at this point my eyes were rapidly scanning this place of wonders. I'd never seen some of this stuff before, my eyes were wild like a angered swarm of bees. While I was waiting, the man's wife brought me over a book. As Struggling student, I could barely afford my own school books, so I definitely couldn't afford to spend extra money but I figured she handed it for me to read while I waited for her husband. So I read the first few pages and then her husband comes out to greet me and we get down to business. So I get ready to leave, with book in hand and give it back to the owners wife. I told her thank you and go to hand her the book back, and she says "you need this" and of course I reply "sorry broke student". She says "I didn't ask for money and I feel this book will be I important to you, take it". Of course at this point I was a bit confused, but looking back on it now I'm glad I took the book and read it. It's what has started my journey! Now my only obstacle is figuring out what path to take, but I'm sure time will only tell! I hope to learn a lot on this forum and hope I can provide anything I have learned be it on or off topic. Just find the path that feels right to you, if you feel the need to of course. Remember that the occult can be as free or specific as you want it to.
Cool story by the way, I almost wonder what book it was. I've found many people who generously have given away knowledge to me, on and off of the forum.
There are many different approaches and even definitions for the occult, take your time. If you need conversation, hit me up any time.

The Magus by Francis Barrett was the book she gave me. I really enjoyed it and I recommend reading it. Since then I've been seeking all types of different books and information.
