The Power Hand
The Power Hand
This may sound like a completely stupid question, but i have been reading a lot of books about meditation, energy work, and ritual magick, and many of them speak of the "Power Hand" in which tthey usually refer to the hand one writes with. I was born a lefty, and first learned to write with my left, but the nazi-ish school system did not want to take the time to work with a lefty, so they forced me to learn to write with my right hand. I made the transition and learned to do all things (except shoot pool) with my right hand. I am confused as to which hand would be my Power Hand, and which would be my receptive hand. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I would guess that my left hand would be the one as this was the dominant hand from birth, but i just wanted some validation from someone that may know better.

Re: The Power Hand
I am a southpaw and I have been raised that way, I never had to change it, however power hand is an interesting theory.. Many are strong with their main hand but in a fight your opposite arm usually delivers the knockout, the power of ones hands is subjective, but in occult terms I figure it is the hand in which you are most comfortable using, dwelling on it is counterproductive, use the one that feels naturally dominate. Not at birth, but the one you have grown to use.. If you were to lose one hand which hand would you choose to save?

Re: The Power Hand
It all depends on which side it goes to. I usually won't shift positions to be able to catch with any one hand. If its closer to the left i catch with the left. If its closer to the right i catch with the right

This is the way I was taught. Look straight ahead. Do you see your nose on the right or on the left? If it is on the left, then you are right dominant, and vice versa.

Then you should perform your ceremony the same way. Do what feel natural.zygoat666 wrote:It all depends on which side it goes to. I usually won't shift positions to be able to catch with any one hand. If its closer to the left i catch with the left. If its closer to the right i catch with the right

Re: The Power Hand
I would say go with the hand which you used naturally at birth.
