New version of "Golden dawn" coming soon.
I just got a notice in my mail that Llewellyn will release a new version of Israel Regardies Golden dawn. It is scheduled to drop next year.
Israel originally wrote the book as a 4 volume set in 1935. Llewellyn took over the publishing in 1971 editing the book into two large volumes and then later in 1986 and 1989 as one big volume set. The fifth edition was edited by Chris Monnastre (a student of regardie.)
The sixth edition had additional indexing by David Goodwin and he also fixed some spelling errors. (this is probably the one most of us have, it's been reprinted 19 times between 1989 and 2014.)
The new 7th edition has a whopping 116 extra pages with "added illustrations, a twenty-page color insert, additional original material, and refreshed design and typography". John Michael Greer has taken over the editing work this time. (Grand Archdruid of the Ancient Order of Druids in America and prolific writer)
This time the book will also come as a hardcover! No more flimsy paperback copies.
Publisher: Llewellyn Publications; 7th edition (January 8, 2016)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 0738743992
ISBN-13: 978-0738743998
Product Dimensions: 3.3 x 7 x 10 inches
The original book is 1.8 x 6 x 9 inches, So this new design will be just as large as the Agrippa books and almost twice as thick as the old version.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't have a physical copy of it, was tempted to get a copy and you pretty much just told me what I needed to know - that the 2016 version will be worth waiting for.

The illustrations are dope. It might be a while before I have time to read it though.
One sad note - still waiting for A Rose Veiled in Black by Three Hands Press. They said November, then February, it's St. Patrick's Day and still no Babs book.

I think that is why I still haven't gotten into the whole limited edition custom made occult book world. To many horror stories and people getting ripped off.Cybernetic_Jazz wrote:The illustrations are dope. It might be a while before I have time to read it though.

I'm quite relieved to have very good news to the contrary in this case - it arrived today. Not sure if it came from oversees or what not. Better late than never of course!Desecrated wrote:I think that is why I still haven't gotten into the whole limited edition custom made occult book world. You can't go wrong with John Michael Greer. A true scholar of the occult. I think his revision will be greatly appreciated.
I've the ebook version of Golden Dawn but I'm actually very tempted by a physical copy of this new edition.

It still has some mistakes, but it worth buying because they have fixed a lot.TruthSeeker_ wrote:You can't go wrong with John Michael Greer. A true scholar of the occult. I think his revision will be greatly appreciated.
