Whirling Spell idea
Does this sound like a good spell idea?
1. Get yourself in "spell mode" (meditate, take a bath, light incense, do the LBRP/ERP, whatever)
2. Write your intent down on a paper or talisman (sigil, Goetic daemon sigil/drawing, etc)
3. While holding the finished product at arm's length, whirl around and around while continuously staring intently at the sigil/message/god name/etc, perhaps while listening to relevant music (for example, heavy metal for a dark or angry spell, love music for a romance spell, Mozart for an intellectual/air-related spell, etc)
4. End in some sort of climax (fall down to ground, jump up in air, roar with anger/excitement, orgasm, etc)

Sure, why not?
Although, those are more often spontaneous and 'in the moment'. For those, you really don't need to write it down.
Falling down is from several different things, sheer exhaustion, dizziness, full blown trance, the release of the spell, etc.
It builds up a LOT of energy. The release should reflect that.

It's a very basic spellcast, that's all. You'll be at doubt of getting results, and if any, they probably won't be as great as you'd hope. Kind of like a team-huddle at a football game. Sure, you'll pump yourself up but it won't ensure you winning the match.

So is rubbing half a potato on a wart and tossing it in a corner of ur backyard. Basic that is.
Do you plan on creating a standard wiccan circle as well? What will you be using to contain the energy that's built up?
From what I've read bay leaves work better than paper for this sort of thing.

Aha, I hear you on the potato thing.
I didn't mean for it to be an elaborate spell, just a very simple working for someone with minimal supplies and a simple intent.

Re: Whirling Spell idea
You don't want it to be elaborate but you list the lrbp and goetic sigils in your examples. Ummm... I don't know how to reply to that.
If all you're doing is a wish, why go through so much effort? Go blow out a candle if you want simple. Seriously.

Re: Whirling Spell idea
It reminds me of Sufi whirling. Have you ever looked into that?

Yeah sounds like the whirling dance some Dervishes do. The Mevlevi order in Turkey is best known for this and yes, it a way of reaching Gnosis.

Re: Whirling Spell idea
I read in the Everything You Wanted to Know About Magick But Were Afraid to Ask book that one should perform the ERP/LBRP before any and all magick. But I'm not so sure anymore.
Re: Whirling Spell idea
Don't believe everything you read.
This is low magic. The LBRP falls under ceremonial magick.
