I do not believe there is anything wrong with challenging the accepted consensus of reality as we perceive it.
I think this mirrors some of the posts I have seen here, in many ways. Someone comes along with a wacked out theory, which is promptly put to rest by experienced folk who are established in their chosen paradigms. A highly condensed, not as accurate but close scenario:
Crazy Person (?): "I think I can become powerful and psychic and stuff by giving myself body and soul to Shog-Yogurt the Wurm!"
Experienced Practicioner (?): "That's a load of bollocks, now go meditate under a waterfall in a rainstorm for ten thousand hours like the rest of us, noob."

I am a noob myself, so I may not be packing wisdom heat that you gunsligers do, but it seems to me there is a pattern here.
We start out by breaking our established society paradigms and embark on this crazy magick journey through the cosmos. After a while, we settle into comfortable rules and paradigms, and leave it at that.

I came to this conclusion after reading through this thread, agreeing with other folks on the sheer ridiculousness of a flat earth and maybe some people should get back on their meds. It hit me out of nowhere, that this journey I have undertaken seems ridiculous to a lot of people too. So, after a round of laughing my ass off at the idea of proving the earth is flat for myself, I have decided I will do just that.

I am going to seriously approach this as someone who believes the earth is flat, and try to prove it. After some time, I will stop and compare notes with both sides of my debate, and see what interesting stuff comes up. Hell, I might just apply this model to my magickal studies as well, considering some of the stuff I have read everywhere that has me laughing embarrassingly. Who knows, maybe some of the wackadoo out there has some merit.

I suppose I'll have to set up an appointment with Shog-Yogurt the Wurm [rofl]

NOTE: I am absolutely not trying to mock any person here. I just find some things humorous.
