The higher self

What do y'all think about this concept? I have a feeling most people here believe in it at least. But I want to hear opinions on what the higher self means to you. Are all guides technically the higher self at some level? How do you know you are in contact with your higher self, or that your imagination is simply running wild?

We are a collection of parts and constructs, basically...

Higher self, primal self, balanced self.

Logos, Eros, Psyche.

Conscious, subconscious, unconscious.

Rule of threes, law of fives, many other variations.

Body, mind, spirit, soul.

Anima, animus, ego, super ego, id.

It goes on and on and on, pick your prefererred terms and concepts and away you go.

We are more than the sum of our parts though, thankfully. [grin] My higher self is 'imaginary' as no one else can see it but me, most of the time. I like running wild though, control is appropriate sometimes but higher self is creative self too, so imagining leads to imagery leads to causality.

My rather addled thoughts for today. Sorry.

Hi!

I would like to add my own experience on the subject. By no means take anything as the absolute truth but maybe some of this will resonate on your inner level of being.

There are actually many higher selves at different levels of our being. So it is a matter of perspective and our current state. Most people think of the higher self as the self which is above the "ego" self. That is fine as most people are "anchored" at that level. But even our ego self is a higher self to our primal (animal or organic) self, which is a higher self to our inorganic (mineral) self. Yes even minerals hold consciousness but thats another topic.

All being-ness in the cosmos is actually a downward chain of fragmentation of consciousness in 12 archetypes (well 13 if you count source). And there are 12 Founder consciousness that fragment themselves 12 times down the chain through these archetypes reaching down to the 4 that you are currently aware of in yourself (or more or less for some..).

So when some people think that the goal is to "merge" and anchor your consciousness in the higher self above the ego self, they will only find that there is much more to putting the pieces of your being together than that. And the higher you go you will realize there are only 12 of us in OUR universe and each was spawned forth from source to collect different experiences. That is where the elite get their watered down idea of 12 families. But every living and non living thing belongs to one of these 12 "families". And even all these are related through source.

So you see, what for some is the higher self, to another is the lower self. Sorry for the long post but honestly even this is an extreme summarization of the subject and I probably wasnt perfect in presenting it so I would rather if anyone has any questions that we break it down slowly in that way.

Thanks Cali this is pretty much what I have come to the conclusion of as well, though I'm not sure about the numbers.

I suppose the reason for this topic is over the last couple of weeks this seems to be what has been comming to me in my mind. I felt like I eas maybe actually beginning to speak with myself on a higher level. I learned a lot about the universe, the creation of matter, and the lines of probability.

I didn't think was really going to share this until I was more acquainted with the people here, but just last night, it felt like something was literally ripped out of my head. The inner dialogue has stopped now, and I can still feel an aching like an emptiness. I have no idea what happened.

Dont worry about knowing exact numbers all that truly matters is our experience of it, the universe is based on experiencing.
What you are experiencing is perfectly normal when in-between states so your feeling of emptiness should transmute into a feeling of fullnes you might not have experienced before. It can be pretty intense and euphoric and I truly wish you the best as you seem to be on a good path. The universe will shower you with gifts and my advice would be that you learn to control your energies to make the best of them.

You truly are brave for sharing this in my opinion, as my experience at that stage was really hard. But it is a blessing becouse now that you have opened yourself people that went through the same can give you words of understanding and support and you can know that it is normal and good things await. I was alone and lost and had to wander through the abyss to find my way out the other end. May the cosmos bless you on your path!
