First experience, please help me understand

So, I'll be honest, I don't know much about anything, but I have always believed in spirits and energy. This may be a long post, and i apologize for the length, please bare with me.
I am being visited by something. Obviously, since I don't know jack, I'm a little nervous about whatever this is.
Let me start from the beginning. At first, I noticed, sometimes while trying to sleep at night, i would feel something touch me, usually poking at my face or back, sometimes cradling my face with one hand, playing or lightly tugging on my hair. Also, in the state between asleep and awake, I could lift one or both of my legs, about a foot off of the bed without any effort or strain at all.
Recently, I suppose this thing is either something else, or has become stronger or more able to get my attention. It started as a light scratching on my bedroom door (sounds exactly like what my dog would do if it wanted in, sounds of breathing or sniffing under the door and all) so, instinctively I would open the door. After that, I started to feel (again, just like my dog) something jump into my bed. I can now feel small footsteps coming up toward my upper body. I cannot see anything And cannot see footprints in the blanket either. I have even woken up to this thing laying still behind my knees like it was snuggling me.
Now, this may be where I went wrong, but i didn't feel anything negative from it, so I started to like, play with it.
It would crawl up my bed, and i would reach out and try to touch it , and it would back up, we would do this back and forth for hours.
Now, I cant sleep, this thing wants my attention every time I get in bed. It crawls up, touches my arms and face. It almost feels like my skin is all static electricity.
Did I mention that my boyfriend sleeps in the same bed and hasn't felt or heard any of this. He thinks I'm crazy or making it up. It actually avoids him deliberately . He will even lay still, almost pretend to be sleeping so he cN experience what I am , but it will literally not move until he is legit. Sleeping. Weird?
I dont know what this thing is, or what it wants. Could some one please help shed some light on this for me? I'm sure there is more information that I am forgetting, so questions are welcome. Thank you!

Hey,

The first part of your text suggests that you are making steps towards astral projection.
The rest would suggest that something is maybe trying to help you achieve it OR maybe it's a different matter and is just here for something else.

About the "play" and him being in bed and you knowing where he moves... I dont honestly know what to think or say.

What I recommend is that first, you should try to learn the difference between what you think and what you percieve from the "outer world".
Second you should try to speak with him. Whenever you feel the touch in your face greet him and ask your questions.

Desecrator, you sound very serious and its mKibg ne nervous. Should I be scared this thing ? Do you get thd impression that it is some sort of parasite or something that wants to hurt me?

It's hard to tell for certian as it doesn't show any of the normal signs of negative spirits. But at this point I think it's a bit too late to get rid of it unless you know how. You pretty much gave whatever it is an open invitation into your life. If it is a parasite or something demonic in nature you'll soon find out.

Although...you could try and use this to your advantage and see if you can get it to work for you. I mean it does appear to want to form some attachment to you and it hasn't been hurting you so I could see some symbiotic relationship forming. Just as long as you make sure you're in charge and you have the proper know how and materials if anything his wrong.

Hoodedrat- I feel the same way. And it's obvious that I literally have no idea what I am doing and have never dealt with anything like this. To be honest. This experience is my first and validating experience. Like I said in my original post, I always believed, but never had any validation. You said to "make sure I am in charge and have the proper know how and materials". I have none neither. Can you help?

Lol this is really random but your description makes it sound like a ghostly cat.

My first suggestion would also be to get rid of it (unknown entities in my bed? that's a hell no) but it sounds a little late for that. But you need to draw some boundaries if it's interfering with your sleep. Try telling it very strongly, either out loud or in your mind, that it needs to respect your space and leave you alone when you ask it to do so or you will banish it. At the very least you'll likely find out its intentions quickly after that.

And maybe learn some banishing or protective rituals in general. This isn't the only thing that can get up in your business.

The spiral-. I thought cat also! Actually my roommate felt something laying on the top of the couch which is very cat -like. Thank you for listening and for the thoughts and advice. . I will definitely take as much of your advice ad I can

As spiral mentioned banishing rituals might work but I'd also advise either asking it to leave or what it wants first. As somebody who has a tendency to attract random spirits I feel your pain. Ignoring them will cause most spirits to go away in my experience for future reference. Oh also! You might want some form of talisman (whether it be a simple cross or something of a more magical nature) to help focus your intent and prevent them from attacking/getting near you. I know from personal experience when I was being targeted by an extremely malevolent spirit as a child that that tends to work.

No need to be serious. English isn't my first language so I tend to keep it short.

And you should absolutely not be scared of it.

It is a sort of parasite in that sense that it needs energy to be able to manifest itself to you, and it is very often using your energy. Because it doesn't show up before your partner falls asleep, it probably takes some energy from him as well.

It's not that it wants to hurt you, but it is in a way hurting you. Right now you are confused, you have doubt, you have all these negative emotions going on because of this, and it is also causing a rift between you and your partner.

So you either need to be very secure in yourself and just 100% accept it, or you can get rid of it for now, and then start on the path of learning more and more about these things and then communicate with it in a more constructive way in the future.

I would recommend doing it yourself.

But you can bring in anybody that you trust. If you are a christian, a priest will do well. if not, some other form of cleansing will do. As long as you believe in that person, your emotions towards the "cat" will do the actual work. Do a search for "cleansing" and "house blessings" and see if there is anybody near you that you can talk to before letting them into your house.

If you had a stray cat show up at your door, there are different methods of getting rid of it, but if you show the intent of wanting it gone. Very often the cat will get the massage and leave by it's own devices.
