So recently I am practicing the Hatha Yoga book by Yogi Ramacharaka. There is a technique in it for controlling one's sexual energy. It is pretty simple. When the desire arises you visualize withdrawing the prana from the desire physically located inside one's juices in the genital part and then send the prana to the solar plexus. As I do this practice for a while now, it is very effective. So I wondered if I can do the same with other desires and negative habits. For instance when I have some negative thoughts or some distracting thoughts I visualize withdrawing prana from them and then sending to the solar plexus and gathering it there. However there is a problem... where does these thoughts come from? So the visualization is not being a complete one thus it is not as much effective...Then the chakras came to my mind. If I remember correctly each chakra has bad sides associated with it. So for instance if I know that specific kind of thoughts or habits arise from a specific chakra I can visualize withdrawing prana from that chakra and send it to the solar plexus (which is another chakra(?))...
So my dear friends can you tell me some practical and specific correspondences you came up with? Google search result charts are too general and broad. Also what do you think about this little 'discovery' of mine, does it have any practical value from the magickal point of view?

There is something like this in Yoga Nidra.

Also, and this might be out of your comfortzone, but Scott Cunningham actually has some interesting ideas about drawing out negative energy/thoughts through the chakras. I think it is in "Living Wicca".

I have a couple thoughts on this,

I'm certainly no expert on Chakras,
but as you know they are in alignment with the Middle Pillar of the TOL.
The genitals corresponding to Yesod, and the Solar Plexus to Tiphareth.
What you are describing is a katabolic process of sending energy from Yesod
back to Tiphareth where it is in a lesser developed state. A reversal of the anabolic
process that can be represented diagrammatically in the TOL.

Where do the thoughts come from?
It depends on the thought I suppose, if the thought is rooted in a vice, and since all
Sephiroth have vice/virtue associations then you could trace it to a particular Sephirah
as the cause, and just send the energy "up", like you have already done, initiating a
katabolic process. The ultimate cause/origin for everything being Kether.

Might be worth mentioning that to banish a vice from Geburah, for example.
And since all Sephiroth have the attributes of their predecessors, you could achieve
this possibly by also working with a Sephirah in the lower part of the Middle Pillar.

Furthermore, whatever action you take, will take place in Assiah. Since it represents
the present, or current moment. And you are merely working through it, and manipulating
the attributes of the past evolved Sephiroth through it.

Of course, there is a BIG difference between Theory and Practice. That was easy!
What a crazy practical idea though,

There are other angles on answering this, I chose that one.

Yes I was thinking doing this with the Sephira as well just thought that Sephira might be a bit complicated as well.
But I wish to try it.

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to cross reference them to Liber 777,
as I have already found one Mistake in TMQ. Where a color association
is declared as yellowish black, when it is in fact yellowish brown.
