Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this . . .
I wondered if anyone could identify a being that seems shrouded in black (a robe perhaps), but has the skull of an animal for a head (I think a horse's skull) . . . my only searches revealed 'Mari Lwyd', but that's more a folk custom and not actually representative of a spirit/god that I can find. The creature in question may feast on flesh, too, if that helps to narrow it down? A friend of mine thought it may be a pagan god, but searches bring up little there, either.

Interesting, can you describe the circumstances in which you met this being? Could it be a thought form of some kind?

I'll grant it's possible, although I know very little about thought-forms (so I'll have to investigate that avenue in a moment).Daud wrote:Interesting, can you describe the circumstances in which you met this being? Could it be a thought form of some kind?
I saw it in a dream; I usually don't pay much attention to dreams, unless there's something particularly meaningful or there's something very distinct about them, and they're usually easy to narrow down to a psychological reason or a spiritual reason, but this one felt . . . different?
In short: I found myself outside my home, looking through the living room window. In the second living-room, I saw this creature hunched over and eating what looked like a person, and I must have made some noise in surprise that caught its attention. I blinked, and it looked right at me. I took a step back and watched it just watching me, until I blinked again and it was suddenly standing between the two living rooms and facing me head on. I sensed something was very wrong, and didn't want to see what it would do next, so I forced myself to awaken.
I used to have recurring nightmares, so I learnt to recognise when I'm dreaming and force myself awake (never was able to lucid dream to change the dream itself, unfortunately) . . . it's just the energy from it, and general feeling, were really overwhelming . . . looking back, it's as if it thought I was invading its territory, even though it was my dream and my home.
If it was just psychological, I'm not sure what it'd mean. If it was some spirit or god, I'm not sure what it wanted or was doing there . . . I haven't come across it since, but it just left me curious what it could be.

It's a pretty common image, I remember seeing on or two metal album covers with that kind of entity. Heck, they even made a halloween costum of it.

Seriously, though, thank you for the link. I wasn't aware it was such a common image, so I suppose it's entirely possible that I've come across it and stored it in my unconscious . . . I actually realised that there's a comic, too, with a demon-entity with a similar appearance. I guess I can probably chalk it up to a psychological cause than something spiritual, which is actually a relief.
