One thing I've been noticing about my puppy of four months old is lately he sometimes stares at the shelf where my old dog's cremation urn and starts barking at it out of nowhere. The few times I moved my dead dog's ashes around the house, while I'm holding it my puppy looks filled with anxiety and starts barking specifically at the tin can he's in. At least once he tried to put his paw in it. He doesn't seem to like it.
Can anyone explain this? When I got my puppy in late Jan (when he was around 8 weeks old), he never paid attention to the shelf. Though the first time I brought the Urn (by this time I had him for a month), it was an immediate reaction when he saw the urn.
Why is my puppy so nervous around my old dog's ashes?

Probably because it smells weird compared to the other objects in your house.LaxCalvinist wrote:One thing I've been noticing about my puppy of four months old is lately he sometimes stares at the shelf where my old dog's cremation urn and starts barking at it out of nowhere. One of the dogs I worked with didn't like christmas decorations for that reason, and would growl and even bark at a stuffed gnome. (that I had bought new for the training).
