How would someone responsibly share knowledge of magic?

Magic in this concept is the Dungeon and dragons, videogame, fantasy type of magic. Not to be mistaken for the type of ritual, spiritual, or religious kind of magic.

Imagine that you discovered how to become a wizard/witch. The type where you can fly on a broomstick and cast fireballs upon your foes. But, you would have to practice one or more techniques to build a solid foundation for magic for about 10 years first. After this, you would have to figure out how to use magic to create spells, artifacts that can help you grow magical herbs and mushrooms, and other artifacts that will help you brew magical potions and elixirs. Etc.

How would you spread the wisdom of your hard work to the rest of the world?
Would you start your own coven or would you share it with your government?
How would someone responsibly share such knowledge?

All at once, these things drive people crazy.....gradual growth is optimal. The path has culling mechanisms.
