Charging tarot deck

Tonight I will be charging my tarot decks outside under the new moon. We are supposed to have some severe thunderstorms tonight. I will be having them well protected in a ziplock bag so they wont get wet. I was wondering, do you think that the rain and thunderstorms would give my tarot cards an extra bang or power to the punch or whatever? hehe I don't know how to put it. I was just wondering if the thunderstorms would give them more of a charge.

I can't speak for everybody here but personally for me, unlike with crystals and other items I've had over the years, my cards don't need to be charged. They are warded with truth and protected against deception, emotions, illusion and other things that can give them false inaccurate readings. The more I work with my cards the more potent they become. I keep all my decks together. They all strengthen and empower each other. I've done readings while it's stormed. However we are all different in the way we do things
If you feel you need to charge your cards that is your way of doing things
and it's right for you. Don't ignore your intuition

I am more geared toward cleansing, than charging, and I would have to say yeah about the Thunderstorms. If it charges you up, it will put more power into whatever you are doing. And I know thunderstorms give ME a zing.
On a side note, I too keep my decks together, in groups actually because I have so many. I think of them like a little family, heh.

I think they get charged with faith.
Ive used the same deck for almost 13yrs now and to me its like they are alive. So I treat them that way. I guess I did charge them with Reiki when I first got them cause it was around the same time but I havent thought about charging them since.
I might though,its been awhile.

Statickitten, don't worry too much about charging the deck, as others have said here. I'd focus more on really knowing the symbolism on every level and then the connection between you and the images becomes the channel through which you can work most fluently. DP made an excellent point above to which I can add little. However, i will say I used to collect rainwater from thunderstorms for various uses ( not to charge a deck with). It an be very potent stuff, but not for everyday use.

As Kazahel implies, cards are best charged by use. Perhaps your cards will become better suited for other magical purposes after the thunderstorm charging. In my experience, the tarots are excellent energy filters and foci, perhaps better than sigils.

I agree that cards are best charged with good use. Although Odin is a thunder and storm god (if my memory serves me right, correct me if I'm wrong) and he is also the god of divination in Nordic tradtion. So I think a good storm would very much bestow his blessings and sight on your deck.

Yes Odin was a god of divination but I think he was the king of the Norse gods and goddesses. I believe Thor was the God of thunder and storms. It's been a while since I studied Norse mythology because of reading, the comic book, Thor, by Marvel Comics. If either of us are wrong we'll be corrected.

Hi Draco,
Yes, i believe you are correct about Odin. I remember now (Thor's Hammer and all). Norse never really 'stuck' like some of the other mythologies.
(I noticed that was your 418th post. Congrats!)
