In this thread I'd like to invite people to share their favourite Tarot spreads, old and new. Most all of us use the Celtic Cross, Romany spread, Tree of Life etc - But I feel we are, as readers, only limited by our imaginations. What spreads do you favour? WHich ones do you find yourself relying on - do you make up new ones a lot, or stick with a few tried and true versions?
I'll post a few of my own favourites later tonight or tomorrow.

Back when I fruitlessly tried to use Tarot for divination, I actually always hated the celtic cross for some reason, lol.
I like the simple, three card elemental layout. It is straight forward and element-based.

...I personaly am very fond of combining my Astrological analysis with my Tarot cards. For example My first Astro/Tarot contemplation involved my primary Asc., Moon and Sun signs. I am Leo asc with Luna in Virgo and Sol in Libra so my layout was Strength/Fortitude, The Hermit and Justice in that order. Looking at them as individual in their relative positions, then their interaction with each other and finally as a whole.
...This is a wonderful method of introspection that was taught to me by my proctor. You can exlpore your natal chart, past, present and future influences and forces etc... There is a great connection with Astrology and Tarot. They are intertwined in many ways
...As an example let's say Leo is in your Sixth House and Saturn is approaching. The Fifth house's keyword is Duty. This encompasses many aspects of work, employment, health etc.. As Saturn approaches Leo, especialy the first decan ( 1 - 10 degrees Leo ). Look to the five of wands. The Five of Wands is named Strife the influence of Saturn will grow as it approaches the first Decan of Leo and fade respectively as it departs. Conflicts and quarrels are a primary aspect of the Five of Wands, so be wary of this influece as it pertains to Leo in your Sixth House.
...The variety of ways to incorporate Tarot into your Astrological analysis is only limited by your creativity. Comparing Planetary aspects or exploring your Houses and Signs the combinations are almost, if not, endless.

I use the Celtic Cross
(http://www.jasnetworks.net/zotiel/OF/tarot/celtic_cross.htm) cuz that's the only one I've bothered to learn...as it was the only one listed in the two books I have on the subject...It works for me pretty well so I've not really bothered looking any of the others up but I am interested in the others.
So, when you let us know which layout you prefer could you tell us why you like it (and maybe send a link on how to do it)? And maybe which deck you believe works best with it.
Thanks,
Q

I mainly use the Celtic cross, for ease really. I've invented and used my own layouts by simply following my instict, and I find this works well for more spiritual workings and investigations. You get more personal and are able to ask a lot more from the cards.
