Since many on the dark side are into becoming gods I wonder what the end results are like? I assume some must have succeded? So it is not about them being allpowerful beings then (there is really only room for one allpowerful being per universe, right?) but what does it mean - how does one know that one has successfully selfdeificated oneself?

I don't have any thing to offer about your main question.
But I dont know if I agree with "there is really only room for one allpowerful being per universe, right"

I think it is an old argument for monotheism which goes something like this: assume that there are two all powerful beings and one says: lets make all grass green, and the other sayz lets make all grass red. Obviously they cannot both get their will done. So one allpowerful being sort of makes the other not allpowerful.
