Satanisim is a boundless plilosiphy that can not be contained within one idea; It will not be contained within one idea. That is not the nature of the LHP.
It is like a system of orginized chaos. The many varied subjects of the LHP are muli-faceted and could never be understood by those who do not walk the LHP,
It is a non-linear way of thinking
Not only can you not give one specific answer to any one question- no one is going to agree on one particular view and if they did, that is not within the nature of the LHP in general. We search for the way along the left hand path, our questions, leading to answers, that lead to more questions Since we have very little written material from which to discuss these things, there are many theroies and ideas that will never come to light if they moderate us in this way.. Is this a form of supression? Another form of opression?
The war between darkness and light goes on! Hail the darkness

Wow! That was so beautiful and true! Leviathan is the backbone of the Left Hand Path. I figured this out somewhere in the past. Satanism is chaos organized. The foundation of Satanism is Leviathan. lol, now it makes me wonder why it wasn't called Leviathanism.

I'm not a conspiricist type myself. I happen to think that most of these kinds of conflicts are more circumstantial than intentional but they do nevertheless occur. Little range wars of one kind or another are so trivial in the bigger picture. There are aspects of the LHP that have been expressed in this space vastly outclassing anything to be found anywhere on the internet and that's a bonafide fact of life. I take that for a significant success. If it turns out it has to take up somewhere else...oh well. Hopefully that is not and will not be the case but only time can determine this for sure. In the meantime, we take our successes where we can and cut our losses as needed...
The work goes on.

To say the least I'm disappointed in many of you. However I'm glad you finally brought this up as special topic not as semi-sarcastic, off-topic remarks in other threads. It should have been brought up as general discussion however since there ain't some conspiracy on satanism section. Feedback is essential as is explaining your thoughts. I will explain mine in following.
You people don't seem to get very simple thing: you seem to take this forum for granted. As moderator if I see someone saying "oh I don't care for rules around here, I'm boundless, I woun't kiss ass" then sure thing I step in and ask - "you ignore rules then?"
Folks I have brought up this very simple exsample several times in last days - if you have guests in your house do you expect them to be polite or arrogant? If they show not a bit of respect you tell them to behave or toss them out.
Now you people think just because we are on satanism forum we can ignore basic rules? You don't think much of consequences. If off-topic remarks, questions and flaming or personal attacks will be allowed all trolls will come here to talk about things which even slightly might remind satanism. If you around showing no respect at all to site owner and admins who enable us to discuss about all these interesting matters do you expect to have this site around forever?
Yeah sure in smaller picture it looks like I'm gestapo and this is becoming Third Reich but if you think you can have something constructive with feeding trolls and starting flamewars then maybe you need a month with them? You have forgotten ONA thread? A lot of bubbling and insulting there, who got anything out of this? Trolls did. Was there any other discussion during couple days? No.
I did not volunteer to be moderators to get power or because I thought this will be "cool" and people "fear me". I knew this job sucks but someone has to keep rules being followed or all we get around here is flaming. I believe this job isn't one sided however. That's why I try to communicate with members not by just warning them but having enough patience and trying to explain bigger picture.
So my humble request would be - if you want to have freedom you will have to give up those stupid off-topic remarks which will as chainreaction leads topic off the track. The ones like "gee I sure do hope what I said woun't be considered off-topic" or in thread about books ask things as "how to better sacrifice, with sword or dagger". Dull exsamples but I sure do hope you get the point. However if you in thread of books start discussing possible deeper meaning of grimories, their possible future et cetera - it's totally Ok. You're still talking about main idea.
Oh and in the end, I don't mind if what I said is considered rubbish - speak up then and I step down from being moderator. You can try this job yourself or have rules followed less with occassional days wasted because trolls have their say and yet another flamewar started.
I'm satanist and basiclly work for same thing as all satanists should but I do understand this site can not be taken for granted.
Regards

Fair enough, I take moderators hat off for a couple weeks. If things get real good during my lack of moderating (or over-moderating) I'll step down from this job. Nobody is perfect as human, I do mistakes aswell. I do admit I don't let at times simple things go although I could or should perhaps. But I sure do hope what I have written got atleast some of you thinking.
This compromise should take some supression off if you're right and I'm totally wrong.

It is like a system of orginized chaos.
Yes indeed. Only the truly dedicated will continue their walk in Satanism and LHP. Even though it is a system of organized chaos, some find it to be a challenge and they fail because they are not truly dedicated. When it comes to Satanic and LHP organizations like churches and temples, they will come crumbling down until they are gone. Satanism is meant to be organized for individuals, not groups. The Prince of Darkness will only work through individual practitioners for a life time. Churches only last for one decade or less (but sometimes it may be two).
Not only can you not give one specific answer to any one question- no one is going to agree on one particular view and if they did, that is not within the nature of the LHP in general.
That brings "organized chaos" to mind. All of us have the same theme, but different views.
Is this a form of supression? Another form of opression?
Any truly dedicated Satanist will known it's a form of suppression. To the temporary (weak, non-dedicated) it is oppression.

That's an astute observation Inuus Grim. I'm not sure why I never really thought of it in that light but I think you are quite right. And I would even go so far as to say that this seems to occur from the moment of birth itself and I have no idea how that works but it seems to be the case to me at least. From cradle to the grave, some of us are born to this path and only become aware of it somewhere in the middle...The Prince of Darkness will only work through individual practitioners for a life time.

I strongly agree with what you said M1thr0s. Satanists, Diabolators, Demonolators, and all individuals in the Left Hand Path are born into it and it starts right at birth. The Prince of Darkness (whom I like calling the Black Winter Goat) inspires us and even works through us.
I have observed that those who are born to be children of the Prince of Darkness have the following things in common:
When I was younger I was raised in a Christian household, but the religion itself was never forced on me. My parents are non-denominational Christians and they do not have a problem with me walking the Left Hand Path. Earlier in my childhood I had this interest in dark things and the supernatural. My school teachers bragged alot about how creative I am and how more students should be like me. I was kind of into the Christian thought about God and Satan, but deep inside I knew something was really good about Satan. One day while walking home from the library (I was about 13) I was fantasizing about being a person who is deeply inspired by Satan and I would lead people away from God. My mind kept telling me that would be the wrong thing to do, but I kept trying to ignore that. Eventually I stopped thinking about Christianity and became completely into darkness. My parents were greatly concerned until they got used to it.
When I learned that Satan is with his children right when they are born, it hit me that during my childhood he kept giving me hints that he is there.
Usually the child of the Prince of Darkness discovers their path in the middle of their teens or in their twenties. I think the Prince of Darkness chooses those ages to let us know because those are the ages where we understand what spirituality is.

- Interest in arts and sciences
- The mind is very creative
- Naturally looks for deeper meanings of things
- Does not give a shit what society thinks is "rational"
- Dark/gothic/erotic art strongly appeals
- Dark deities in mythology strongly appeal

This is a little out there but I have sometimes thought it was a question of light itself...like out of every 1000 or so stars that come along maybe one "dark star" is also born into the world, so that from an astral perspective it would be clearly visible what is hidden to the naked eye. It may be a bit far-fetched, but it's a recurrent thought that might serve on some level to explain things. There's obviously absolutely NO SCIENTIFIC basis to it at all...not yet at least...

This letter was originally in a PM but I think there are some things that I wish to share:
I like this group and you guys are alright for letting me hang in there and speak my mind. The thing is to handle situations with diplomacy, so let me explain myself.
If one of the group gets off subject of a topic, in most cases it's because some valid point was brought up and the conversation leads there eventually. There are so many opinions when it comes to the nature of satansism as a philosiphy/religion ; no two really think alike. We get into the subjects that other types wouldn't even approach and this is our place to discuss it. Our discussion is mainly the details of the occult, and the occult is riddled with mysteries and puzzles one thing could lead to another.
I do see a point that was raised on the forum in my "Supression of Darkness" post that said- i'ts polite to follow the rules in someone elses home; I can understand this, and this is why I generally come here to post so that I can share knowledge and other aspects of philosiphy. Im not in this for fun, this is real time occult study. That is why I made that post of "supression of the dark;" for as some have already believed in the past, that the fundies are out to get us; also consiider that the internet is not as anonomous as you may think, they could be watching my every keystroke/ scanning the satanists watching them. !! The government has already disrrupted the JOS and is threatening them with a review of thier religion by FED's ( since they have over 1,000 members, they are considered a cult or religion) He he he Im not saying that Occultfourums. com is that big, but this sounds like a modern-day wich hunt to me.
Many people get into satanisim out of curiosity; ususally they are the ones that ask dumb pointless questions that everyone rants on. You know why? there's no written doocuments that we can refer to on the board, like some kind of satanic essays, or points of thought wrtitten as essays maybe theyll learn something before we have to answer stupid questions and cover the same ground, over and over. Some of us put a lot of time and effort into study (and I assume you do to so you know how it is) and since we are here to learn, we should be able to discuss in whichever way we can. I like to have a quality placce to go to on the net, where real ideals of satanisim can be discussed in a professional, educational/beneficial maner. Like occultforums.com.

Actually, this is going to be a bit on and a bit off-topic all rolled into one (I can't already here the sighs of "take it elsewhere" LOL - but you're stuck with it).
The very names of the beliefs, ideals, philosophies, theologies, whatever you wish to call it are 1-completely counter-active to what most people on this planet consider "respectable" (I mean no offense in this, just stating a fact); 2-that which invokes the greatest fears in a good majority of religious individuals; and 3-usually completely different than what most percieve them to actually be at first glance. Yes there are those that worship Satan. Then there are those that believe in themselves. Yes, there are those that worship Lucifer as Satan, and then there are those that consider him a light bringer.
For me, it is difficult to see where a topic begins to be off topic unless it is of the blatant troll variety. Let me explain that. If you are a Satanist in the way that some here are, you believe in yourself and your abilities. If you are Luciferian, you believe in the knowledge and, sometimes, divinity that accompanies that knowledge. Either way, the student (i.e. you) is evolving. Hence, the knowledge that is gained evolves. Hence the discussions of that knowledge evolve. Sometimes that evolution takes you in different direction than you originally believed you had started. That may or not be the case, maybe only a natural part of that evolution or maybe the "missing link" of that evolution. That is only up to each individual to decide. The easiest way to convey this is say "This may seem silly but . . . ." If there is enough interest in the new idea, start a new topic, providing the link to the older topic so others can see how it evolved. That way, if they wish to continue on the older subject matter, they may do so there and if they wish to go with the newer stuff, they may do so there. There is so much cross over in sooooo many areas of the occult, it is a difficult task, but one that you all may wish to consider. What may be evolution to one would be de-evolution to another, if that makes any sense what so ever. Creating a new topic that others show interest in actually gives others a freedom to explore it based on their own evolution and not entirely on those that posted before.
I know that this, coming from me, will probably only be considered another for of suppression or oppression or whatever. I don't really care. But, please, as your thoughts are evolving around what started as one question and turning into another is not going to be the same way that evolves for someone else. Please give others the freedom to choose as well and the easiest way to do that is to create a new topic with a link to the old topic so that they may see your evolutionary process.

This is quit an interesting post and has been one of the best attempts so far to order the chaos of this particular board. I applaud you all on the effort, lest just hope we can all utilize our emotions and egos in fashion conduction to a deeper understanding.

Very nice to see you again aa_nerut. Some of us old-timers have very much missed your presence.
I am very glad to see someone at least distinguishing between off-topic meandering as a natural evolutionary process vs the troll variety which is really more aimed at deliberately hijacking a topic and using it for petty personal gratification. There is a huge difference here and I've always felt that the whole concept of comments being classed as off-topic was mainly designed to set a guidelines against the latter. With only rare exceptions, the most powerful and insightful threads I can remember participating in have almost always wound up going in more than one direction at once and have sometimes ended up looking very different towards the end than from where they started. I always sort of feel like the spirit of any good thread is one of growth and exploration and it's very hard to know what a mature tree will look like by examining its seed or its sappling for instance. Nevertheless, if a tree begins to mutate into a volkswagon, we might justifyable feel there is a problem going on here that should probably be dealt with.
In that case, starting a volkswagon thread would seem to be the best solution, so I very much agree with that strategy as well. The tricky part is knowing the difference which is not always so easy a call. I sometimes return to the original question itself and try to ask myself...is there even a remote connection between where things are at now and the question or comment being posed at origin? And/or along with this, is there any natural extension that can be defined from point A to point B? I'm sure that seems ridiculously obvious but you might be surprised how clarifying it can be...you can also use this little "reality check" to modify a post before posting it to try to tie it in a bit better etc...

Please pay no attention to the trollish post. It is being dealt with.
I think that this movement has got to evolve beyond itself, it cannot remain in such a defensive state every time it is challenged or thought of in something other than was so and so wrote in such and such text. To me the problem with this movement is that most donâ??t look at the beauty of anotherâ??s spark. It is only about me, me, me, and everyone else or any other way is wrong. Lets not be so blinded by our own flame that we forget about the others that are there.
Very well put. That is a process of the evolution. Understanding how each is doing it, in my opinion. The fact that it does evolve is nothing short of extraordinary. We just need to temper that with, at times, acceptance, and, at other times, trying to look at it that they are at least making the attempt to learn or be better or evolve or whatever. Many do not.

Supression of the Darkness

I'm glad you brought this up Venus666.
As the longest-standing current moderator of this board (actually SDW was doing it before me but she's been kicked upstairs to Admin) I appreciate what you're saying.
The thing is this: You argue that Satanism is about free-flowing information, and I agree. HOWEVER...
I would argue that if someone was using these boards to learn about Satanism they might find it very difficult to use the search function on a particular topic if it is going anywhere and everywhere. So my solution is this:
If you are about to make a post on a particular topic but think it also counts as a topic in itself then please START A NEW TOPIC and then PUT A LINK TO THAT TOPIC IN THE ORIGINAL DISCUSSION.
That way, those following the discussion can follow the ideas that followed from it but those who wish to keep on topic because they are searching for knowledge/opinions on something very specific can just scroll down.
I trust that this compromise suits everybody.
Also, mods have a system whereby they can split a topic into two pieces. If the above happens and a topic is birthed from a mother topic and the poster has not done as I said above then I will split the topic (both will still be in Satanism, of course) and put a link to the new topic in the old one myself.
Is this OK with you guys?
(Cue cries of "Lord Ruthven, you're off your meds again!")
