Effects of the Sabbats on gardening

A lot of pagans seem to have this notion that the Sabbats are somehow for celebration and attunement only. I think that is a bit misguided myself, as it is quite clear why the Sabbats were originally practiced. The point wasn't so much to celebrate as it was to magically ensure they had enough food to eat. A lot of the Sabbats themselves are essentially blessings on the garden/harvest or even the hunt in the winter months when the growing season is over.
So, that being said, has anyone made any particular observation on the effects of the Sabbats on your garden? I for one have. Dancing around the May Pole in particular, provided your May pole is in view of your garden, seems to have a profound effect. One year I couldn't get anyone to dance around the May Pole with me, so I danced around it alone. Then one of our dogs saw me and joined me. He started playing and bouncing about; essentially dancing with me. I guess that is a tad odd, seeing as some of the symbology of dancing around the May Pole is supposed to reflect the sexual union, or at least that is one interpretation. Anyway, all the plants around that area grew huge that year, but produced no fruit. Go figure.
I didn't get to make a May Pole this year as I live with closed minded Christians, and it would just be a needless fight.
Anyway, anyone else have any thoughts on the effect of the Sabbats on gardening?

Edit: I've also noticed in general practicing the Sabbats tends to make me prone to spending more time in the garden and working with growing plants.
