For starters, I would like anything you all know about unicorns. The hows, the whats and the whys...

There are some old English Tapestries on the subject which, when cross referenced with some rather striking astrological information, lead me to believe it to be more than just a myth.

I could use some input...Thanx

In the tapestry was the unicorn holding a lance?

I think I know of some old book that might have some info on unicorns, so if I find anything interesting on it, I'll post.

Heraldry should give some handy information.Unicorns are bearers of the Scottish Arms and there is also a Unicorn bearing the English arms, against a Lion, with a legend about how they fought.

"He lived his words, spoke his own actions and his story and the story of the world ran parallel."

As I was looking over some of the links... something struck me which I'm shocked I hadn't see so long ago. I had read that from the perspective of the star Anteres in the constellation Bootes (37 LY Distance... not that far when speaking of the heavens) if you were to look back at the constellation of the horse Pegasus, our sun would appear as a point over it's head, thus transforming it into a unicorn. (Now I haven't been able to find out exactly where I read this... that's why I was searching.) I had always wondered if this is where the legend of the unicorn origianted (extrasolar?) Nonsense now that I think about it.

Truth is, I was too caught up with the aspect of the horn of the Unicorn to see the truth. Most of the unicorn's aspect are not Horse like but those of a goat. The beard, the cloven holves and having a horn at all. Now, if a Goat were to have it's horns entwined or... It's two horns become one (why do I want to make a too horny joke here?) Then, pretty much you would have a Unicorn. A short, not so white Unicorn, but a unicorn none the less.
This explanes the English Standard of the Lion vs. The Unicorn. Look to the night sky. On opposite sides of the year you have Leo, the Summer solstice, the Time of Light and Capercorn, the Goat, the shortest night of the year. Albeit with one horn as opposed to two but, where whould heraldry be with out a touch of the mysteries.... Thanks all. You have helped solve a problem I have been wondering about for nigh on ten years now.
