I have worked with many Deities from Sumer, Babylon, etc. Some we regard as Elder Gods and others as Ancient ones in the more contemporary vein. If by Lovecraftian old ones then yes I have worked with certain aspects of them as well, although I do not do so regularly. What would you like to know specifically?

I think old rituals are unnecessarily complicated. There are more practical and modern ways for all kinds of spells.

Sometimes you can just ask...
I am the Watcher.
I am the Wanderer.
I am the Whisper.
I am the Warden.
I am the Weaver.

The important thing is to catch their interest. Many of them have rather busy schedules and you can't expect them to simply fit everybody in just because they are called upon.Think of how many times people around you have called to you for help and selfish gain.Would you answer all of them?If you don't appeal to the tastes of the one you seek you can't expect them to simply oblige out of sheer generosity.I will admit there are some who will readily get involved for their own amusement but those ones are all the more likely to cause you problems. It would be a good idea to look into the one you plan to call upon prior to doing so.Many have certain quirks that can lead to an unpleasant experience should you encounter them unprepared. On the other hand some of the more prominent ones may be inclined to answer you on their own time. You can't expect anyone important to simply fit you in whenever you want unless you just happen to have uncanny timing and good fortune. They are not simply there for your amusement and service.Make sure you are respectful.Even some of the most non sociable beings will warm up to you if you show them proper respects.
Concealed in darkness my secrets hide, chase my shadows and peer inside, a magic door for the bold, between lines lay the key of gold.

A dark invitation~

^^What Belial said.

It goes for everything within the spiritual world, just because you attempt to call something doesn't mean they must obey. Having legitimate reasons and not just personal curiosity would help.

A name consisting of the combination of Enlil and Enki, interesting.

Indeed. The name does however provoke a number of personal reactions that I will refrain from expressing as the person no doubt was not aware of the negative implications of doing so.

I did not phrase that in a manner deferring of all responsibility Stukov.I was simply giving the benefit of said doubt.

Btw, back to response of the OP, it depends on which "old ones" you are referring to. As old is a matter of perspective, however you was successful in calling at least one of the oldest old ones.
