I have had some very strange experiances recently and I need to discuss them with folks more experianced in these things. Either I have lost my mind or the world is more evil than I ever realised.
I found some strange objects in my mother's home. All were gifts and all seemed to include symbols and images concealed in patterns. I mentioned it to a relative of mine who informed me that the South African government used to have a division for dealing with satanism, witchcrfat and occult and one of their functions was to control the use of enslavement objects. Objects that people create to enslave others. The truth is I do not know whether to believe him because he is a bit too reborn christian for me.
Does anyone know about such objects? Are they real?

Occult/magickal.
These sound like fetishes or charm objects.I 'd hazard a guess they are of local/indigenous types of so called 'witchcraft'.
I 've put 'witchcraft' in quotes here,as Christian missionary churches suffered from a tendency to lump all spiritual practices and beliefs outside of their own as 'witchcraft' or satanism of some kind.This led on to the state of affairs you describe with all other beliefs being actively hunted down and suppressed.
There is still a huge level of superstition and fear surrounding 'Sorcery' in many places in Africa and while some of it may be justified,given that any system of belief will have 'badguys' and extreme forms of practise,it is not necessary 'evil' to engage in the worship of Spirits and Godforms from your Ancestral traditions.
And not all 'fetishes' are for evil magicks/enslavement and bad purposes,some are protective and designed to aid people,yet others serve as vehicles or containers for spirits.
Have you asked your mother about them? Perhaps you should.
