Looking for information on Thelema and Temple of Set

Post by Lord Draconova »

I used to consider myself a LaVeyian Satanist but then I came to realize that this system of beliefs no longer works for me & have been considering looking into Thelema & the Temple of Set. Aside from the ToS website and Uncle Setnak's (or however his name is spelled) books what can I read for a more detailed explanation of the Setian religion? As for Thelema; what books are good for a person who is new to Crowley's writings? Thanks.

What made you leave the LaVeyian type of thing? (I'm not part of it, just curious)

The atheistic ideology that drives it. An experience of mine directly disproved the notion that there isn't a such thing as supernatural entities (whatever you choose to call them). That and I see it more as a philosophy than as a religion.

You won't get disagreement from me that other beings exist in the universe.

Well I had the sense they was associated with this thread, perhaps watching the OP. Was curious if they were like members of what he used to belong to.

For Crowley's writings I highly recommend Book 4, it has everything you could need in it. It has the Book of the Law, Magick in Theory and Practice -basically the theory of magick, and rituals, how to practice and the rituals themselves, and a part on meditation.
gave you diamonds gave you emeralds weighed you down with precious stones, laid my finger on the trigger, took you down up off your throne, now i'm so alone, lay down slowly on the right side of my bed, whisper so softly oh so softly shots ring out inside my head, i took you in my arms the night was raining lead, kissed you gently oh so gently for the time we had was spent. Home is where, you find it, home is where, we hide it,
