pan and loki
I am currently trying to look up some study about pan and Loki.
And considering ma by start working with pan / Loki
Reason why i say pan/loki is that some of what i have red about them i see allot of similar things and connections between both loki and pan and that interests me highly .
i would b e highly grateful for any information and tips on this subject !
(and yes i know its already a post about Loki , but dint find that much helping as it was more warning posts than information on the subject )

Re: pan and loki
Well would you mind explaining the similar things between them that intrigue you?
Oh, Death, оh Death, oh Death,
Won't you spare me over til another year
But what is this, that I cant see
with ice cold hands taking hold of me
When God is gone and the Devil takes hold,
who will have mercy on your soul
Won't you spare me over til another year
But what is this, that I cant see

Re: pan and loki
hmmm, its strange don't know how i exactly can explain it.
loki is as you know is the trickster, the promoter of the worlds downfall and the troublemaker in the northern mythology. dont feel that i need to explain so much into Loki as i think most of us know the main story about Loki
as for pan he is know for being associated with the forest and despair.
and also known for chasing nymphs, luring woman and enchanting them with his seven-piped flute.
like the story where pan tricked the moon goddess Selena !
he accomplished this by wrapping himself in a sheepskin to hide his hairy black goat form and drew her down from the sky into the forest where he seduced her.
Also pan in my eyes seems like maby a little "rebel" and also a bit of a troublemaker like Loki.
the ancient people of hellas actually worshiped him as a god of lust and festival .
they had huge feasts in his name .
but it also seems like the feared him in kind of a way as a god of "terror" and distortion.
and ma by therefor they sacrificed blood wine and food in his name.
i think the thing i find most interesting and simulare about them is that in rites they seem to have some of the same effects.
a lot of times they are both described as a trickster that often comes and mess an play with your head, haunting your dreams and creating panic attacks .
(sorry about my english )

Re: pan and loki
Well Pan isnt necessarily a trickster god. While that was the one thing Loki did to the gods.
I believe what your looking for is chaos? Am i correct?
Id advise not working with Loki because as you know Loki is a Trickster remember that if you are going to have dealings with him because he will try to screw you over in some why or another and he will create chaos within your life.
Pan i don't have any advice upon because i have never met someone that dealt with him.
I would advise staying away from the tricksters though. Lets call it personal experience.

i love to just gather information about mostly everything that i can come over when it comes to the occult.
and by per day im no where near trying no work with loki or pan in that way.
but ofc i would really like to work with gods such as loki , i have always been drawn and more focused on the darker aspect of the occult , i kinda feel like something is pulling me towards it (maby sounds stupid but thats how i feel heh )
anyways would you mind maby telling me about this "personal experience " ?

Re: pan and loki
Loki isn't exactly known for his kindness or nobility. You might want to reconsider that. Pan is okay, though.chris218 wrote:I am currently trying to look up some study about pan and Loki.

Re: pan and loki
Personally - I love Loki and work closely with him. However! No. I wouldn't recommend you or probably anyone else tries to work him, there are plenty of far ... kinder, less chaotic gods to work with. If you're really interested in both of those then I'd definitely recommend you go Pan over Loki, every time.
I'll also just add that I don't really see much connection between Pan and Loki - very different characters from my experiences.

Re: pan and loki
Loki and pan are two different beings despite their similarities in lore. If memory serves me correct Pan is older than loki. The only way I've seen anyone work with Loki is when you have as his respect as an equal or you help him in someway. Pan could be a little more helpful but you must understand every being has a different personality thus may or may not work with you for varying reasons.

Re: pan and loki
Both deities are very ancient, powerful and represent primal forces.
If you are looking to liberate/integrate the primal nature within you, then either/both of these Gods are of interest and importance.
I am a dedicant of Hela and I am somewhat familiar with Loki and other Jotunfolk through my working practices.I am Heathen but also heretic in my outlook according to some sources.A label I own proudly ,lol.
Meh,danger is all around us and the Urban jungle is just as dangerous a place as the domains these Deities protect, have dominion over and move through.
If like me,you are considered to possess a 'bad attitude',lol, then Loki is certainly the man for you.Unorthodox in a box, paradox on a plate and also rather hard to kill off too.
Who wouldn't want to pal around with this guy? He's got it going on,in buckets.Lol,but seriously.

Have a wee look around here,if you will.
Resources on Loki that go outwith the boundaries of Sturlsson and other Christian overwriters of that ilk are rare and can be difficult to find.
I have a few more links I can give you,but they are of a UPG/CPG nature, mostly and lean a little on the Neopagan side.[Nowt wrong with that,of course, but it's not my personal cuppa char.]
I can add them later if you wish?
On Pan,I 'm less qualified to answer, but I 've had some fun in the Woods of an evening and a bit of blind Panic can be an extremely liberating ,if terrifying way to get loose the bonds and constraints of cultural programming and the strains of modernity and 'civilised living'. [wink]
I 'm quite the risk taker in my magickal meanderings,so Allies who walk on the wilder side of life and death are those I feel most comfortable with.IMMV.

There is a book called Pan Paradox that may interest you. It should also be noted that the author of said book is in a Black Metal band called Arckanum.
