The Drunk / Nonsense Thread

Post by ElectroConvulsiveJeremy »

I officially declare this to be the thread of nonsensical and at times alcohol et al inspired thread of randomness, whimsy and chaotic rambling.

Today I was allowed to leave work early due to the snow. My journey took me three hours to walk home compared to what is normally a 45 minute, 2 bus journey.
As I approached my humble abode, I decided that I deserved, nay needed, a beer. Beers were brought, songs were sung and shoes were ruined - and here I am, typing like some kind of disenfranchised monkey of misery with a keyboard strapped to it's arse being shoved down an escalator in a sleeping bag - but we've all been there. Shortly I shall open the wine - I cannot promise that what will happen beyond this point will be comprehensible, but I can promise this - I shall drink, and I shall be merry. Yay verily.

Well if you're mixing the Grape and the Grain, I might go so far as to promise you a hangover... [razz]

and possible puking...or probable [wink]
We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of disociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age. ~ H.P. That giant hammer bottle opener is quite possible the coolest thing I've seen this week.

Agreed, I have decided that I need one of those to help enrich my existence.

Well my Dad always used to say, "beer then wine is fine, wine then beer oh dear" which is something I have found to be true. As it turned out I didn't make it to the wine and fell asleep for an unnaturally long time. But it was much needed!

Probably a good thing, if you had gotten to the wine it probably would have been worse than a hangover. [lol]

Agree, Silent Hill 2 was a total disappointment [grr]

I actually only bought the Crystal Skull vodka because --not only did it come in a funky bottle, but it also came with two little Skully candle holders, and it was 30% off! [cool2]
The only thing is that we found the candle holders actually make better shot glasses.
And then, there's also that whole deep, primordial memory thing about drinking hooch out of a skull that I hafta admit kinda speaks to me...

Dear, dear, we all drink too much yadda yadda. I am on the wine. It's a food group. It's grapes. That's fruit. That's a food group. It has less calories than beer?

My very favourite tipple changes all the time, but I am a bit partial to high standard golden tequila and cherry brandy. Whiskey usually goes down a treat after 12 years or so.

I like to brew my own and am currently waiting on a sherry. I enjoy living essentially next door to the constabulary and still managing a still in the spare room. [tongue]
Your head's like mine, like all our heads; big enough to contain every god and devil there ever was. Big enough to hold the weight of oceans and the turning stars. Whole universes fit in there! But what do we choose to keep in this miraculous cabinet? Little broken things, sad trinkets that we play with over and over. The world turns our key and we play the same little tune again and again and we think that tunes are all we are.

We had some Raki once that was similarly killer, about 80%.

The coffee adds an extra something,I like that idea.

Iwill never drink Raki again, but what a night! Lol. [greensmile]

Just found out that cheap brandy and pirate metal are a wonderful combination.
[grin]

My friends I stand before you
To tell a truth most dire
They lurks a treator in our mist
Who haven't vote the captain's ire

He don't deserve no mercy
We ought to shoot him with a gun
But I am not an evil man
but first let's have a little fun

We'll tie that scoundrel to a rope
And throw him overboard
drag him underneath the ship
A terrifying deadly trip

Keelhaul, that filthy landlubber,
send him down to the depths below
Make that bastard walk the plank
with a bottle of rum and the Yo-Ho-Ho

Keelhaul, that filthy landlubber,
send him down to the depths below
Make that bastard walk the plank with a bottle of rum and the Yo-Ho-Ho
All phenomena are real in some sense, unreal in some sense, meaningless in some sense, real and meaningless in some sense, unreal and meaningless in some sense, and real and unreal and meaningless in some sense.

Crikey I havent been here in ages except for an occasional lurk, and here I am in the troll pit!
Nothing of the occult to report / comment on except for recently getting heavily into the study of runes!
I comment here purely as I am on my 7th ale of the evening! YARRR! (Nod to the above piratey post)
Hope everyone is well?
