Ritual help/advice

Post by Kushiel »

Hello everyone, I know I'm extremely new, but I am seeking some serious (to me anyways) help. I'm not one to ask for help especially with anything magick related. I've always viewed it as something deeply personal so that should tell you how important this is to me. I'm seeking to cleanse an heirloom engagement ring. Normally I would just write my own ritual and be done with it, but my future fiance means too much to me for me to not seek assistance.

I guess a little background information would be needed. The ring was my great grandmother's. She had a wonderful marriage as did my grandmother that inherited it. My mom, on the other hand had 2 failed marriages, and I myself have had one and a failed engagement. Now I have been around for a long time, so please no posts about how it could all just be coincidence. I realize that there could be nothing wrong with the ring at all, I am just trying to cover all my bases.

If it was any other item I'd do a basic purification ritual and forget about it. I'm seeking something a little more (well a lot more) specialized. Google was no help, I learned about 50 different ways to literally clean the actual ring but thats it.

I don't care what style of magick you personally use, I myself blend just about everything I've learned in my years so I'm no stranger to working with different schools of thought. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Covering the bases, I get that...

For what it's worth, the Wife and I always just clean stuff by leaving it out in a bowl of organic white rice, for three nights over the course of the Full Moon.
However, that being said, I've been hanging with a bunch of NA Native Folks lately that swear by smudging with sage or sweet grass; and I have to confess, when I smudge myself it leaves me feeling pretty damn good.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Good luck, my second marriage seems to be working out ok. [greensmile]

Thanks for the reply. I've never heard of using the white rice but now that I think about it it makes sense. I'm a big fan of using sage myself so I know where you're coming from there. I'll give the rice thing a try during the next full moon, in the mean time though II'm going to keep looking. Thanks again for your reply and also thank you for wishing me luck with my future wife.
