Terms in use and confusions.
Been a while that I was thinking about that so now I go on.
Do you think that the term that are associated with satanism must be changed or not?
I mean the word "satan" for example is more irronical than what satanism is really representing. The term satan was invented and attached to us by christians and I know that keeping them is in a way showing what christians did and what we were always representative of to the society, but there is already a lot of confusion that are introduce just by keeping this name and other terms related like "devil" or "demon" (which can be changed into "deamon" to put its orriginal significance).
I do not agree with people that just judge what satanism is just by looking at the name, It really freaks me out sometimes, I know that it is significative and that the term satan is more subjective to be use by christians than us.
What's your point of view about that?

ºº where did you got those infos from?
Re: Terms in use and confusions.
There's lots of people out there that judge what they don't know anything about.
Let them wallow in their ignorance and do whatever the hell you want. What does the opinion of the uninformed really matter?

The term satan was not created by christianism.. it was used in the bible, and in pure semantics it's a title and not a name per se. There is no correlation between that word and daemon aswell, from the semantic point of view.
If the word was misused and if that misuse had alot of influence from christians.. ye that's probably right.
Anyways i never found an even remotely logical motive why satanism is called.. satanism, according to the meaning of the word. It actually makes more sense, even if not much, that it's because of the erroneous meaning the word has received thro all these years.
I kinda understand what you're saying and i agree with you but, naming it satanism was made by the founders of such doctrine.. and not just mere media bashing, so they are the ones to blame.
But since i don't consider myself a satanism i should probably retire myself from this conversation!

Yeah I agree and understand what you said, I know that it is not a christian word but that they took it to their advantages. But I mean it took me a long time to start to understand some things in satanism (or general occultism) and I think that they should be more explecit about what they say and the reason why of some of their thoughs (show more documentation for example). I know that the understanding is something else that takes much more time to get and this is maybe a positive point about behing more descreet about the actual meanings because I realise that you can't understand the universe of the occult without thinking a LOT about it, (like all philosophical concepts).hobotubbie wrote:The term satan was not created by christianism.. it was used in the bible, and in pure semantics it's a title and not a name per se. And well people should also understand that satanism is just a very small part in the general occultism.

Uh, Satan is a Jewish concept. But anyways, a title is, itself, a symbol. When you take on the title of Satanist you take on the preconceived notions, it's half the point of sny title, both for yourself and others. Of one doesn't want to deal with the misconceptions they should not use certain symbols. Why it freaks you out , I'm not sure. People who won't look past your title don't deserve your care.

I understand that but this is part of my personality to feel concern about what others think...DawningSun777 wrote:Uh, Satan is a Jewish concept. But anyways, a title is, itself, a symbol.
