Projection problems
Projection problems
Finally attempted astral projection today.... except I couldn't get all the way out of my body. It's not like it was impossible, it was the fact that I had to stop myself. I felt a strong pressure like there was a suction between my soul and body and the more I tried to get out the stronger it was. This was also accompanied with the sensation of heat on my face with needles pricking at my skin. I got scared and stopped which left me with a dizzy head ace.
I want to know if this is normal or if I am doing something wrong. I will not be attempting this again until I know what is going on because I have had a stroke in the past and don't want to push myself...
Can I get helpz...? [cry]

Re: Projection problems
The strong pressure I can certainly relate to. I find there's a point in my meditation where a kind of wave comes over my body and I know I'm in a trance? At that point I attempt exit and there is a feeling of being held back. The pins and needles however, I haven't experienced... certainly I've never had a headache after an attempted projection. But everyone experiences projection differently, so I wouldn't give up hope completely until some other people with more experience post

Re: Projection problems
I've heard of the pins and needles before but have never personally experienced it.
Honestly, I think you're trying to hard. Projecting should be a smooth and simple as breath.
It sounds as if you got part way out, got scared and didn't fit back in just right. That's what usually causes the headaches. Normally, I would suggest popping back out and slipping back in to fix that but I don't know if that would work for you.
There was one time before I learned the pop back out and in trick that I was rudely interrupted while projecting. It felt like I was underwater for almost an hour. Everything was wavy and in slow motion.
Another neat trick when you want to return or are tying to return is to focus on your feet. Whether you simply think of your feet or the sensation of taking a step and touching the ground - it'll pop you right back in. Works like a charm.

I've been using the mind awake - body asleep method but can't get all the way out. Perhaps I don't have enough energy?RoseRed wrote:

Re: Projection problems
It has nothing to do with not having enough energy unless you're on your death bed (and then it's easier).
Are you scared of the loss of control or anxious about what you'll experience when you finally do project?

Re: Projection problems
Nope, if anything I'm anxious to get out and experience these new things. But I'm stuck [mad] . I can't get to the vibrating state everyone talks about.RoseRed wrote:It has nothing to do with not having enough energy unless you're on your death bed (and then it's easier).

Not everyone hits the vibrating state. It's more of a rule of thumb than an actual rule.
