working with Egyptian gods
working with Egyptian gods
Any good resources out there on working with the ancient Egyptian gods? Specifically looking for information on invocation. I've seen a few books/websites out there but haven't found anything that looks like it's from a good source.

Have you looked into Michael W. Ford stuff. I haven't read any of his books myself but i have watched some of his youtube videos and he seems very knowledgable about the egyptian gods more than anything. its worth checking out, I think his big book or at least the book he pushes the most is "Dragon of the Twin (or is it "two") Flames"insomni4c wrote:Any good resources out there on working with the ancient Egyptian gods? I'm reading cassandra eason Egyptian magic right now.
She is more wicca, but writes very simple and give some good advice on what books to continue with.

Re: working with Egyptian gods
In my opinion it's easiest to simply read about them and find what's appropriate for yourself. The works of E. A. Budge are copious, as he devoted his life to the study of ancient Egyptian history and archaeology, though some of his translations are outdated, and if you can objectively look past his inherently Christian viewpoint of "why" Egyptian traditions were so, you will find a lot of facts about what was used and accurate descriptions of how. If you pair that with a bit of common sense you shouldn't have any problems figuring out what's best for you.

I thought I'd have a wee look around and found this right away.It looks very interesting,so I've bookmarked it for myself too.
There is a link for a discussion group and you can e mail the author,so maybe you could find further information that way also. [thumbup]

Thank you Nahemah! This is exactly the resource I needed to help a friend. It is gratifying to see the Gods at work and to be their instruments.Nahemah wrote:Is this of any use?

Hello insomni4c,
Perhaps you should consider learning to work with a pendulum. When you are fairly proficient then ask your subconscious if you should work with these godforms.

lmao so obvious so simple but the last thing that I would have thought of! Good advice the simple stuff always works better than the complex in my experiences anyway. I know this isnt my thread but thanks for the postAsurendra wrote:Hello insomni4c,
