Hello, I created my own Tarot spread and I wanted to figure out if any one could tell me it's a fair spread.
Let me tell you how I work;
1) I start separating the cards into 2 groups; the minor arcana and major arcana.
2) I ask myself a question; What is the main point of...tonights party? (Example.)
3) I shuffle the major pile like any other spread, including rotation, and pick out a card somewhere in the middle. I place this card "north". (I choose the major because the major represents the main points of events of our lives.)
4) I ask myself another question; What are the other points of...tonights party? (Example.)
5) I shuffle the minor pile like any other spread, including rotation, and pick out 2 cards. I place these cards "northwest" and "Northeast.
6) I turn the cards over. I see what is my main and extra focal points of my event, in this case tonight's party.
Problem; Is this fair? Somehow it doesn't seem fair to separate the minor from major concsious before shuffling.
Tarot; my own spread. Is it correct?

I see it this way: if you're allowed to use a major-only spread and you're allowed to use a standard poker deck to read, you're allowed to use the majors and the minors separately.
Half-assed pun about the arcane.

TP here, no else want to comment?

Hi Malachite.
What validates your spread is the results you get from using it.
Divination and occultism generally - we are inherently talking about things that are pseudo-scientific, and as such there are no rules when it comes to what is and is not permissible.
Use your spread a few times and see if it will yield accurate insights. If it does, then it is worth using.
