7 realms

Hello!

In Buddhism there are 7 realms of existence, and i was educated that you have to know them, know the flaws, and meditate upon them.

So looking more in to it, there are old relates of monks how trough meditation, got to "go" n other realms and understand them.

that got me thinking if that is not some type of Astral travel, and how they archived it.

any one know something on this?

Buddhism is a vast subject. Some versions of it has much much more then just 7 realms, Some have less.

What you are describing definitely sounds like astral travel.

If you are interested in the different states of mind during different states of consciousness you should read "the Tibetan book of death"
