good evening,
I'm curious about the different ways to charge and activate sigils. I have read Spare's book on sigil magick, and have created sigils before charging it with masturbation. I'm a bit of an artist and was wondering if there was any way to incorporate my sigil in a work of art and display it at an event to charge and activate it? I'm having a party soon and wanted to see if I could harness the good energy and vibes from my guests. Thanks in advance!

question about sigils
Re: question about sigils
As long as you lost the intent in you mind before displaying the piece, I would say this was feasible.
I used sigil magick to create a painting which functions as a magickal node, siphoning energy from my sleep and surroundings, with great effect.
Sigils can be charged in the same way as most spells can be.
Through any bodily fluid, or through intent alone. I'm sure you could also use oils and other liquids to charge them, if you desired.
The absolute most important thing I've read is that you totally forget about the sigil, and all intent that goes along with it. That would be kind of hard to do if you were displaying the piece, and even more so if you were to be complimented on it, or the like.
My personal reccomendation would be to create the painting, but do not have it as the center piece of your event venue. Keep it somewhere both you and other guests will not so much notice it, but it still has the possibility of invoking the eyes.

Re: question about sigils
Thank you very much for your response. I figure I'd make a few sigils for the event and place them in plain sight, but like you said, not the center of attention. My issue with the piece of art is forgetting especially since the event is within the next 2-3 weeks. Hopefully it'll still work out.Haelos wrote:As long as you lost the intent in you mind before displaying the piece, I would say this was feasible.

Lastly, do you think I should banish/destroy it or just continue making it a part of the landscape in my house and eventually not notice it. Thanks again! [thumbup]

Re: question about sigils
I'd say depending on the purpose of the item, you could do either.
If it were a spell that you only wished to effect those at the party, or something along those lines, then you would want to destroy it after it has served its purpose.
However, if it is a spell you can still make use of, but are not lustful for constant results, you can continue to display it.
I'm no expert when it comes to this particular art, so take what I say with some objectivity. I'm mostly going off of seconds hand accounts, books, and a single first-hand experience.
The only spell I've done using sigils see results vary by the day.
As I said, it was node to gain energy from my surroundings and transfer it to myself passively.
I've been going on about 3 hours of sleep a night since I performed the spell, in which the ritual took place over 4 days.
Tonight, I'll probably sleep for around 11 hours, and that is because of how much I've been talking about it. The thought of the spell is fresh in my mind, and will be less effective today than it was yesterday.
Keep this in mind if you continue to keep a painting using sigil magick displayed in your home.
Likely, every time you see it, for a long time, it will remind you of the spell in play, and you once again become lustful of the results you wish to obtain.
That is why most sigils are destroyed after being charged and cast.
Continue to experiment with your technique, and if this particular spell doesn't work out the way you want it, record your results and try again. Just be persistent in your desired art, and you will come to find what methods work best for you personally.
No system works better than your own.
