Hello guys and girls! I'm going to be spending at least two years in prison (UK) and would really appreciate some help with books to take in with me.
I'm looking on Books that deal with Satanism in a theistic way, I really wanted to get the ixaxaar ones but they are way too expensive to buy in a few weeks
I'm also very interested in the forms of Satanism that incorporate other cultures like Dark Paganism, Egyptian mythology ext....
Thank you for the read and have a great day! [yay]
I think you'd be better off with books on yoga, mindfulness and meditation than trying to turn yourself into some kind of dark satanic sorcerer. If you're going into prison for 2 years you've obviously managed to make some pretty serious missteps somewhere, and figuring out what you did wrong, why you did it and how to not repeat it will serve you much better than any satanic material.
"The path of the Sage is called
'The Path of Illumination'
he who gives himself to this path
is like a block of wood
that gives itself to the chisel-
cut by cut it is honed to perfection"
- DDJ, Verse 27
"It's still magic even if you know how it's done." - Terry Pratchett
Congratulations for going to prison, although it would be better if you managed to avoid it.
I cannot really suggest books on Satanism, but I do suggest that you read the first masonic books, by writers like Eliphas Levi, Edward Waite and Albert Pike. You'll find many comments on Satanism, many Satanic elements and philosophies which can be applied in every purely western form of religion. Levi, in his famous book translated by Edward Waite mentions the Satanists at least ten times. That is, of course, to say that speaking about Satanism he only means the Diabolists, the saints of the Lord, who existed before LaVey and are now persecuted and sent to prison for their devotional acts.
Don't fuck around with non-western gypsy religions. I can't really think of any book speaking about Diabolism (which means, using only western and biblical, as well as heretic, elements of Christianity). Ah. I can also suggest La-bas by Joris Karl Huysmans. It is about a writer who discovers that there is a tradition of Satanism in France dating back to the time of medieval saint, Gill de Rais, who used to rape and sacrifice children whores in the Name of the Lord.
Satanists should act more like islamists, not propagandists and apologists.
prison is very painful seing the sorrow in ones spiritual circle but I guess a rooms fixtures and supplies like fridges always linger on try the second step with a sander for karma in the dungeon lol ha ha
Have you looked into Luciferianism? Not exactly Satanism so to speak, but good books on Theistic Satanism are in short supply. And most of the ones i have read, i would not recommend.
Most good resources are found online (like here and several other places), and i am aware that there is no access to the www in the joint unless yer doin time in a US federal resort (which u said you weren't).
I saw someone suggested books on meditation above. This is good advice as you can incorporate your beliefs into this, and it will bring you closer to Satan. I woukd also suggest possibly looking into Demonolatry if you are drawn to the darker paths. Demons can be good companions, and where yer goin, there ain't much of a well to draw from when it comes to companions that have yer best interest at heart. Just sayin.
If you build a man a fire, he will be warm for a day.
If you set a man on fire, he will be warm for the rest of his life.
"Satanism" and "Luciferianism" could be literal terms, but none of them is. In fact, they support their beliefs to distinguish themselves from one another by using the conventional terms the others have used to define themselves. The term "Luciferianism" nowdays is actually used instead of the term "Satanism" just because the idiots who claim to be Satanists focus only on carnality instead of spiritualism. Meaning, they get penetrated instead of performing rituals, setting difficult goals for the achievement of Gnosis and having strict moral rules for one to follow in order to be enlightened by the secrets of Satan's black flame. None of them can tell you, "Do this, and the Lord will be pleased with you."
(In fact, they even avoid the word "Lord", firstly because it reminds them of the Christian God and secondly because LaVey didn't know that "Prince" is a mistranslation of the word "Archon" which means "Lord", not "Prince". "Archi" = "Authority". Thus we have "Hierarchy" in English)
Anyway, perhaps Gnostic Satanism has to offer something. Masonic Satanism seems pretty interesting too (not the conspiracy theories, the real one). Now, about Luciferianism, well, the term is also based on the mistranslation of Isaiah in the King James Bible.
So, there is no "Lucifer" (except if they are worshiping the Roman and the Greek mythology about the planet Venus, which I wouldn't suggest you do, because now we know Venus is a fucking rock flying around, not a god) and Satanists are not materialistic whores, unless they aren't Satanists at all. Hence the whole point the Luciferians do to define themselves is based on mistakes.
I'm really bored with all these stupid definitions like, "Hey, this guy falsely claimed he's a Satanist. I'll say I'm the same thing using another word just to show we don't believe in the same things."
Thank you guys for all of the serious posts! Just got back home after a few days travel
And for everyone talking shit about going to prison or whatever i didn't judge you so please don't judge me, iv been interested in Satanism since i was around 15(25 now) and a few months ago i thought id bite the bullet and really research it.
I'm going to read the mature comments now and for the others, a lot of people end up in Prison for stupid things, it could be you one day, i never thought it would be me(How i wish i was saying that about a lottery win) [yay]
I really wanted to look into Gnostic Satanism but all the books seem to be very overpriced (It was the main type of Satanism i was interested in) A state of pure gnosis has always intrigued me
I don't have any good advice in regards to your original question. I just don't know so much about Satanism.
I am a bit disappointed to see people jump on your case about going to prison. We don't know anything about your case so I see criticism as being out of line. There are so many laws on the books regulating every facet of human interaction. We have all broken the law at some point. The difference between most of us and you may not be much more than having been caught.
The only advice I can offer you is to keep your mouth shut and mind your own business inside. Don't run your mouth, and don't tell stories. When you walk along the tier, you don't want to see what's happening inside cells; so don't look. Never, ever point at anybody (it's called "eyeball fucking" or similar, depending where you are, and it's a violation of their person that they must rectify so don't create that situation). Never speak about someone not present. Allow friendships to form gradually over time. Don't owe anybody anything at any time. If someone offers to cover you until your account comes through, thank them, tell them you are doing your own time, and do without anything you can't cover ON THE SPOT.
Good idea to use your time to learn about your spirituality. Be safe, be strong, and come back to tell us what you have learned with your time when you are done. And again, keep your mouth shut.
Who the fuck would criticize a Satanist for going to prison? Are we serious? In fact, the one who goes to prison has the right to criticize the others for believing without works. For, even if they do works, they cannot prove it, whilst he can.
"But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?"
Thank you for the kind words! After viewing the CCTV it's not AS bad as i thought it was (I don't drink often or take drugs) but id just moved in with some new people and they gave me some Xanax and Vodka(Never again hahaha) and the fight that happened it was obvious that the guys started on me for having long hair and wearing a metal shirt they threw the first punch but i messed one of them up pretty bad and kicked him in the face when he was on the floor(Literally my first fight since a teen) My Solicitor is trying to get it down to a year so i can do 6 months inside.
This is UK prison were talking about so i doubt it will be as heavy experience as an American one, it just sucks that iv had to cut my long hair off haha that would bring more attention inside i think [crymore]
Anyway, aside from all the well known badass LaVey nonsense, theistic devilworship and stuff I liked the works of Oliver Fehn a lot. It is in its core the common philosophy of "you are your own boss" combined with an approach similar to chaos magick when it comes to the practice. Definitly worth a look, especially if you like the style of Jan Fries because Oliver Fehn is quite similar in style and humour.

lol. I didn't know you can go to prison for beating someone. That's extremely unfair and anti-Satanic.
I also didn't know Xanax can cause aggressiveness. Haha. Try Concerta with alcohol and come back when you finish counting the corpses on your way back. Cocaine with alcohol would also be nice, but it's kind of expensive to do everyday.
Yes, i have never really had a violent Xanax experience. I went to prison for a similar reason in the US. Had a man instigate a fight and i finished it by accidentally kicking the lower half of his face off with my steel toe work boots. Did two years over it, and it made me a stronger person for the terrible experience. The advice given about prison a few posts up is golden. Memorize it all as it will keep you out of confrontation. And i agree that noone should judge another without knowing the whole story. And even after the whole story is known, who am i to pass judgement? As if the crime you committed is worse than those that i may have committed. Keep yer head up while yer down, and do share how the time has helped you to grow after you get out.
And i gotta wonder why meth wasn't mentioned when we were listing all the wonderful violence inciting substances one can use, lol?

I've been to prison and from my personal experience you may want to get workout books and meditation books of certain styles of meditation, idk what type of prison you are going to, I was in an American prison locked in a cell 22 hours out of the day, so meditation and fictional books help me "escape" and made the time go by a lot faster.. Working out helps keep you grounded and the endorphins it releases is enough to make you quite content and goes quite well with meditation. [thumbup]
Uncle Chuckie is good. Anything by Charles Bukowski.
Books on generalites/underpinnings of moral philosophy, critical thinking and epistemology will be useful too, no doubt, as you can get a lot of understanding about human nature from these. Invaluable for a Satanist, I'd say. [thumbup]
Wish you well mate and not judging you either. [grin]

"Stronger person"? I thought everyone who goes to an American prison gets raped by Abdul and Mustafa, so, technically, he should get out a faggot person, not a stronger one.
Never tried meth. Thank you for the suggestion. I'll search for it to try it now.
Lol, that is not an accurate description of American prisons. Especially nowadays. I happened to go back in the 90s, and there wasn't a lot of raping going on. Some, but not generally. That shit only happened when someone begged to have an example made out of them, and it was usually gang related (another part of prison that i didnt take part in). Mostly it was a lot of reading and lifting weights for me (both of which make one stronger. Physically and mentally). Quite a bit of fighting, but no raping.

I would ask you to consider the suggestions made by Diane Vera - I've personally found her to be extremely knowledgable on the subject. You can find her website here: http://theisticsatanism.com/
Try to remain positive while you are in jail. I have never been in jail myself, but I have known a few people who have. Some of them were destroyed by their experiences.

^ that is a huge misconception, idk why so many people think that, there are plenty of pedophiles and people who commit sexual assault, those are the people who usually get victimized. People don't go around licking their lips like man I'm gunna rape that guy...
It is a rare occurance for it to happen and if it does happen it's quite often because the person is in there for a messed up sexual crime.
Other than that.. Gay people go to prison to.. So there is those who will seek out a relationship and another who will use them for sex.
Lol I just wanted to clarify that.

I've often wondered if the hole 'you will get raped in prison' thing was just a scare tactic. From what I understand however there is a lot of fighting, and you need to be prepared to stick up for yourself. Would that be correct?

A lot of fighting no.. You might get tested often to see if you will fight, in that case yes be prepared to,cake it clear that your not going to put up with any shit and if they want to make anything of it you will happily step to an area without any cameras... Many times this leads to the person respecting your willingness to stand up for yourself and doesn't often lead to an actual fight unless either of you have something against eachother prior to the incident or if the person is having a bad day, the inmates will make sure that neither of you get hurt badly, when the fight is over they break it up, the prison I was in was a medium-max disciplinary prison so guards were few and far between, the inmates mostly handled the fighting aspect because if any fight got out of hand then the Correctional officers would put everyone on lockdown, so the inmates break it up usually before any serious injury.

This sounds like school, not prison.
A guy I knew went to prison in the U.S. for drug dealing and after a few days he was beaten up badly. He said the cops beat him during the interrogation, but he couldn't walk and he was bent all the time, so we all assumed he was raped.
As for the ones who commit sexual crimes, my mother knew a guy who raped his baby. He killed himself in his cell a few days after he went to prison. Haha.
Now, I've been sued two times for beating someone but none of the cases ever reached the court.
^Exactly what it is.. A daycare center basically, only its 24/7, yeah the correctional officers (CO's) are usually the assholes, if they have a bad day and don't feel like dealing with your shit and you are in a minimum security prison they will beat your ass, but that is unlikely or rather less likely to happen in a higher security prison where most inmates are serving life, the reason being is that inmate will come across that guard again eventually, where as a minimum security prison the guy will not want to catch a case fighting back. (This is sort of getting of topic of the book recommendations [tongue]
Prison IS a lot like school........except there is no sex of a hetero-sexual nature. And that is about the ONLY way one could consider it a punishment. Lots of time to read, play chess/scrabble/dominoes, workout, and watch tv........who wouldn't love to have more time in life for those things? But, alas, there is no sex of a hetero-sexual nature. So it sucks totally.
To make at least a portion of this post ON-TOPIC.........i might suggest, if you only have to pull 6mos., get someone on the outside to get you a subscription to a porno mag. Not too swanky, but more swanky than Playboy (Hustler or Penthouse is the preferred). These can be bartered and rented out in exchange for goods. I used to call it Paper Pimpin. Very lucrative business. And THAT is my suggestion for reading material.
