The United States was founded by members of various ancient mystery orders, familiarly the Freemasons. The pyramid is split right before the All Seeing Eye which represents an unfinished product. The finished product will be when the United States reaches a certain goal of enlightenment. The Eye represents the omnipresent God over watching all of us.
