IIH : I forget breathing during some exercises :D
IIH : I forget breathing during some exercises :D
Hello guys. Back a while here some of you here recommended me a great book - The IIH . It is really a good book and I am practicing it now, and I came up with little problem, so please help. During the complete vacancy of mind or during the exercises that require high concentration (such as imagining objects and so on) I suddenly realize that I forgot to breath every time. And as soon as I start breathing the vacancy of mind or my concentration wanes away. Did any of you have the same problem ? What should I do about this ?
Re: IIH : I forget breathing during some exercises :D
If you are doing the fourfold breath as in breath in for 4 seconds hold 4 seconds and breath out for 4 seconds than you should try to just breath normally. If not I don't know how to help you usually you would have problems with holding the image in your head for 5 min without any interruptions not with breathing.

I don't do 4 fould breathing , I just do some deep breathing before and during.. maybe that's the case. Thanks for the reply.

You know what.
It really sounds like you are just training.
I don't think there is any special technique to get through this faster, just keep doing what you are doing.
If it's still a problem in 6 month we need to dig deeper.

You're thinking about it too much.
Your breathing should be smooth and natural. If it isn't, then just practice your breathing for a while, focusing solely on that until you're comfortable. You don't have to focus on the four-fold thing either. My breathing ratio is usually closer to 12:12, 15:15 or even deeper depending, without any effort at all. The ratio changes and grows deeper as you progress, for very specific reasons that would take a while to explain. Don't worry about the numbers. Just breathe. In, out. Deep. In, out. Relax. In, out. Breathe. Don't overthink it. Relax and let it happen.
Train your body to breathe correctly, and you will breathe correctly even unconsciously. Then you can focus on the mental and energy exercises without your uncoordinated body tripping over itself. If you really want to dedicate a bit of time to some breath training, read The Science of Breath.
