Jung's Collective Unconscious?
Now, what do you think Jung meant by the term collective unconscious?
Did he mean that if you go down deep enough into unconscious mind you will find that all people are literally connected and are part of one big mind? That all minds are interconnected at the deepest, unconscious, level?
Or do you think he meant that whilst different people's deepest unconscious levels of mind are separate they nevertheless contain similar fundamental things that all members of their species have?

Jung meant the first.
Over the time as our world becomes more and more materialistic, people regard it as the second. And some regard it as a total bullshit.

Thank you for your response. I would have replied earlier but haven't accessed the Internet.
Can you think of how a magickian might use the collective unconscious in order to influence a large group of people.

I am not sure, however, are you familiar with egregores? As far as I know these are mini-collective unconsciouses of separate groups. You might want to find some information about them.

Good thinking. Thanks.

Yeah, I read about Egregores a while back in one of my PDFs about Theurgy. Whenever a group of people worship, or meditate on something, a distinct Entity is created called an Egregore. It exists for as long as it is acknowledged.

It is taught that egregores "sleep". When a group disolves, they fall into sleep, but it might be awaken again.Spida wrote: It exists for as long as it is acknowledged.
