The Magic of New Ishtar Power

Post by Dr_Mike »

NIP is Al Manning's answer to Geof Gray-Cobb's New Avatar Power but harder to find. I think there are some PDFs of it floating around on the internet and I have a hard copy that I found 10 years ago in the metaphysical section of Powell's Books in Portland, OR (if anyone lives around there and wants to check it out--it's a great bookstore).

Anyway, I started working years ago with NIP and had some seriously intense experiences with the "energy transformer personalities" (basically gods, though "Ishtar" in the book is not the goddess Ishtar). I honestly do not know why I stopped working with the praxis, but I'm feeling called back to it again.

I'm posting this here to raise awareness of the text and of AL Manning's books in general, which look goofy until you actually start using the techniques.

Here's a link to NIP on Amazon. I do not recommend that you pay the asking price of $47. You can find it in occult bookstores. Seriously.

When you say it is the "answer to new avatar power" I'm not sure what you mean? An improvement or like a sister ritual working with similar powers that be or maybe similar steps?

Oh, I just meant that it is probably a publisher's marketing attempt to produce something equivalent to NAP. Manning was a formidable practitioner who, like Gray-Cobb, seemed to hide behind the corny occult marketing of the day. Thing is, all this stuff can work. I think NIP has some really unique aspects. It's not Kabalistic like NAP--focuses more on chakras and redefining various gods into "energy transformers" in an almost chaos magic way. It takes some effort, but I think it's pretty interesting.
