Re: Necromancy Resources
You might already know this, but I did not see it mentioned above; there are necromantic rituals in Levi's Transcendental Magic and Wait's Book of Ceremonial Magic. http://archive.org/details/transcendentalma00leviuoft http://www.sacred-texts.com/grim/bcm/bcm79.htm I like Wendell because her rituals...

Re: Ideas for effing up a trash trowing neighbor?
This does not seem to me like a problem in need of a magical solution. Not yet, anyway. Talk to the guy. If you feel you cannot talk him, and you cannot find a mundane way to overcome that feeling, then use magic to sort out why that is and overcome that.

Just a heads-up for anyone interested: Only 24 hours remain in the fundraiser. We are presently 170% funded, so the campaign has already succeeded, but there is still time for people to score limited edition robomancy swag. http://igg.me/p/58550?a=360293

What's the difference between a Chaos magician and a Catholic?

I recently kicked off a fundraiser for a website about robotic magic including an online book, Robomancy in Theory and Practice, and integrated community, the Robomancers' Guild. If that sounds like something that might interest you, check it out.

Re: Do I have to keep doing liber mmm mind control
one of the exercises involves sitting & not even blinking, half an hour is the suggested time to do this, is this something most experienced chaos magicians can achieve? Yes, you should be able to "sit quietly, doing nothing" (Zen) for at least 30 minutes, although the not-blinking pa...

Re: Do I have to keep doing liber mmm mind control
When you have done them daily for a while, you can maintain pretty well by doing them less frequently -- say, three days per week (IIRC, that is what is suggested in LLL). But I can tell you from personal experience that if you cease doing them altogether, you will (if you are like me) lose their be...

Re: The brain as a computer - A proposal for the advanced.
I would say the central issue here is how much plasticity you would ascribe to one's belief. I actually can only speak from my own experience. I have many beliefs that I would need to tear down, before I would be able to go to the next step to shape my belief. I guess the question of whether or not...

Re: Why do you believe this stuff?
Recently I drew a comparison between the two systems of ideas arising at the same moment in history (1904): Einstein's theories of space-time relativity, and Austin Osman Spare's theories which I described as "a relativity of belief". It was interesting that the year of the writing of the...

"Nah, but seriously, perception is definitely 100% exclusive to our passive portions of the brain. Our brain AUTOMATICALLY interprets signals from the eyes/ears/nose/hands/etc to define objects & their place in the world. If it didn't, and we had to actively THINK to visualize our world, we...

Re: What is chaos magick exactly?
Prompted by some discussion in the recent "Brain As a Computer" thread... I see a significant difference between Chaos magic and eclectic magic (and so does this guy , and this guy ). Lots of people these days mix-and-match between various magic styles, taking what they like and leaving wh...

"Like you said, there are lots of magickal techniques for DISCOVERING your 'true self' or even other 'personalities', but this isn't what I'm looking for. I'm looking to craft, per se, an entirely new personality of my own design." Discovery was only one of the activities I mentioned. See ...

Re: The brain as a computer - A proposal for the advanced.
"The brain is often times compared to a computer. In a way, this isn't far from the truth, for a few very good reasons. For instance, your 'personality' can be compared to an operating system, and traits to processes." Worth noting that comparing one thing to another does not make them equ...

Re: What is chaos magick exactly?
I don't need gnosis, link or subliminalization to use chaos magic. I find it dubious that you employ nothing more than belief changes in your magical practice, or that if you admit you employ more, your magical results are in no way consequent to that. But I freely admit I know no more about you, y...

Re: What is chaos magick exactly?
Thank you for your reply, reptilian. A few comments: "The concept behind chaos magic is that the most powerful thing in magic, and the only thing necessary to work magic, is belief." That seems incomplete to me. Even if we limit our scope to just Carroll's model of Chaos magic, belief is o...

Ughh... My earlier point was that 'probability' is purely theoretical, as such influencing it directly would be futile as you are addressing a variable that does not exist. Feel free to contradict me but please don't enter into a circular argument. Sorry if I'm getting curt, it is possible that I a...

So your 'luck' would be an attribute which every person possesses which can be either positive or negative. Re: gambling
How much of 'luck' is 'magic' anyway. I for one don't understand the nature of 'luck' so how can I hope to influence it? What we generaly term as probability is just convenient and used to simplify complex but entirely mechanical causal chains. Flipping a coin for example, we generaly think of the ...
