Re: Why I'm Leaving the Forum
Well, after much thought, I've decided that the only way to really know if occult things exist is to experience them firsthand. I am going to go on a Satanic self-exploration journey and find out what's really real. I'm going to start with psionics, as they seem pretty cool.

Re: Why I'm Leaving the Forum
I feel similarly about the occult as you do, as I want science to prove it. However, I don't want to be confined just to "scientific proof" I do want a bit of my own experience in the spiritual world. Not to mention, if one studies and practices the occult, they are likely to be able to think up a ...

Re: Why I'm Leaving the Forum
Well just because science hasn't or can't prove something, that doesn't mean that that the "gap" is a place to insert magic(k). This sounds similar to the "God of the Gaps argument" http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/God_of_the_gaps except insetead of "god", it' uses magic(k). Magic(k) could exist, but ...

Re: Why I'm Leaving the Forum
Sorry for the delay in my reply, I've been really busy with real-life stuff. But now I can respond to some of your questions/comments. After I do that, I will decide myself whether or not I want to stay on the forum and then I will state my decision and either leave or stay. I had some trouble with ...

Re: Why I'm Leaving the Forum
I know you have many questions for me that I need to respond to. But first: why do you want someone on a forum about magick who:
1.) doesn't really believe in magick.
2.) doesn't really believe in other occult things like karma, gods, demons, angels, the three-fold law, mass consciousness, telepathy ...

If you're just using magic as a form of psychodrama, why call it "magic"? Why not just call it "psychodrama"?

Whatever you decide to believe in the end, the most important thing is to live happily. Best wishes.
Thank you. Even if I may disagree with a lot of the things on this forum, I can't deny that I've been treated well for the most part by the people on this forum. I'm glad that people can discuss ...

Re: Why I'm Leaving the Forum
Here's my rebuttal:
What would make you believe in magic for sure?
That's already been done. It's called tummo.
I looked up tummo and it's apparently a type of meditation that can allegedly be used to change your physical body. Scientists have observed it being used to change the body ...

It depends on the definition of magic(k) being used, but generally some kind of repeatable experiment done in a controlled environment that showed that objectively showed magic was real using the scientific method would be enough to convince me. But ...

Why I'm Leaving the Forum
I could go really in depth with this post with lots of personal reasons and other fun stuff, but I'm going to make a long story short. I've basicly applied scientific scrutiny to my beliefs about gods, magick, spirits, Hermeticism and occultism in general and after much thought have decided to ...

Re: Modern/non-theistic Satanism that isn't Laveyan based?
Is it possible to be a non-theistic Satanist with your own beliefs without considering yourself Laveyan? And having your own way of practicing magick such as chaos magick, with no satanic rituals, etc.?
Yes. You don't need ritual to be a non-theistic Satanist as for most non-theistic Satanists ...

Yes. In fact, many Satanists and Luciferians operate in this way. It's quite simple. Instead of using LeVay's tradition, invent your own.

Re: Who I Am and What I Believe in Satanism
I figured I should post a reply to this thread as my beliefs have now changed somewhat.

I've read some more Hermetic literature that illuminated me. The higher planes cannot be changed, but this one can.
Thanks!

The All is Immutable (Kybalion Question)
Hello all! I'm a beginning occultist and have been studying Hermetics (since it's the Foundation of all Western Occultism). I've read the Kybalion and it seems to make sense to me. But there's one thing that I just don't get. On page 17 of the Kybalion, it says " It (the All) cannot be added to nor ...

Who I Am and What I Believe in Satanism
Hello all. I've been on this forum for about a month, but I haven't formally introduced myself yet.
As you may have gathered from my username, I am a Satanist. My beliefs in Satanism don't fit well into either the Theistic or Atheistic camps, so I just call myself an Independent Satanist. I believe ...

Here are more questions that I have that many beginners could also have:

-Is the internet a reliable source for getting occult knowledge?
-How accurate is information from the New Age Movement?
-What does it mean when people say that you "create your own reality ...

Re: Building FAQ Pt. 1: Ask your questions.

There are limits, but they often have more to do with the magician than the magic itself. Most guys could build a house, but a Master Carpenter can build a much nicer one than his Apprentice, and either of ...

Here are my questions. I would assume many other beginners would have these same or similar questions.
-Are there limits to magic(k) or is it an omnipotent force that can do literally anything?
-Does magick follow Newtonian Physics?
Thanks for the answers!

Magick-Natural or Supernatural in Origin
How do you think magick works? I understand that pretty much every occultist has a different view on this, but in general do you think that magick originates from a natural source (e.g. our bodies, the universe, etc.) or a supernatural source (gods/goddesses of magick, higher self. etc.). Or are you ...

No. Absolutely and definitively no.

I've answered this question a few times.
You seem reluctant to point out exactly what you're after. Whats going on?
I don't want to get too deep into my personal life, but I suffer from anxiety and when I get ideas about things like this happening, I get worried. I've been pretty stressed lately ...
