How you picture him/her
Original post: Mairu
I passed through what can be called a Satanist or Luciferian phase when leaving Christian teachings. The Enemy was pictured by Christians as the best of all angels and the one who dared to say NO! I see that as a very possitive thing: the ability to disobey.
As it has been pointed out, the typical attributes of the Enemy (enemy of Yaveh, not of mine) have been taken from other religions: Shiva, Dyonisos, etc. In Basque mythology, Godess Mari is sometimes expressed as the black he-goat (yes, "he"), while her consort, Sugar, is normally seen as a serpent or dragon. Not even "blessed" stuff, like holy water and crosses can defeat them.
Nowadays I think that the actual Lord of Darkness (understood as confussion) is Yaveh (God, Allah) and all his confusing laws and hierarchies, and his manicheistic good/evil false duality. The Lord of Darkness is (for me) a bearded Patriarch with a bright white robe on a cloud. But he's powerless in a really high level, because of his need to dominate and dictate.
I don't pay much attention to Satan anymore, as I think it is a projection of JMC religions. And I am already out of that paradigm.
Just passed by and wanted to say hi. :-)

i believe him to be angelic, just as beautiful as before he fell from grace. nothing has changed in his appearance, only in his intentions, emotions, and thoughts.

wait a sec...
if what we are talking about is the Prince of Darkness, why are ppl talking about misunderstood entities? (not to take a stab at your belief system, morning star)
if you believe Lucifer is Misunderstood or perhaps a good entity, do you believe in a fundementally evil entity and if so, how do you see this "Prince of Darkness"?

to me, the being responsable for all evil is an immense being, who looks just like you think he would, and has a cold air about him. he is made up of cells, just like your body is, except his cells are every bad thought every human has ever had. his brain cells are twisted intentions, his muscle cells are inhumane acts, his lips are made of lies, his eyes are made of malacious-bent perceptions on reality. he is also COMPLETELY aware of what he is doing, and does it anyway. (it is his nature after all) he is friendly if u meet him, but it is BY NO MEANS sincere. he does this to get closer and closer and closer to you, until he finally will attack you, from the inside. you than either banish him mentally and become good, or you give in and become his puppet...
i believe it was this one who tempted Lucifer. dont get me wrong, Lucifer is was kinder and wiser than you or i could ever hope to be, but only the Evil Being's antithesis has never thought evil things. the reason that lucifer "fell" though is because he refused to believe that to Good Being would welcome him back, so he left, believing himself to be the Evil Being. Lucifer was just a puppet though, a puppet to who is the known as, in my life at least, as the Great Puppet Master.
almost sounds like a Elizabethan Tragedy...
Hmmmmm
The Tragedy of Lucifer...
i like where this is going...
okay, ur turn

I believe the (christian) allegory of Lucifer's fall from grace means simply that he/she/it was the circle of knowledge & consciousness in the process of emanation that descented from "heavenly bliss" (=the plane of pure spirit) to the level of matter, permeating it with potential spirituality. Kind of like an synthesis with the matter and spirit, the medium that reflects the consciousness of the whole universe (in humans the psyche, mind or self-consciousness). The spirit is in everything, but it is usually latent and must be awakened.
So christians are right in their allegory about Lucifer's fall, but made the wrong assumptions from it.
Via this method 'The prince of Darkness' can be understood as a entity of knowledge that always resides there where we haven't laid our eyes yet - in the darkness. Usually because of fear or/and ignorance.

To me the Prince of Darkness is the unseen, but felt force which generates and expands the Cosmos; it is also the essence which (destorys?) what has out-lived it's purpose - think on the lines of a BLACK HOLE. The Creative/Entropic principle (we) call God or the Gods. If you analyze Nature you will see evil does not exist. Man created evil - as no other species is as enslaved by depravity such as (we) ....... Think upon this for a moment, and you'll realize the truth in that statement. Man is the creator of his own doom.

lucifer can not be compleatly good nor can he/she be compleatly evil. christians see him/her as complete evil, but how is that possable? that also means if there is a, god then he/she can't be compleaty good or evil. And what if lucifer was really the creator of mankind and angels/other beings made up god to reble aginst him?
are we all going to label each other "good" and "evil" because i think that no one can only be one or the other.

Absolutely the same here. Then again a friend of mine does attribute the Tarot Card Prince of Swords to me so Prince of Darkness really does fit quite well.
